I live less than 10 miles from Hermosa - this is the first I've heard of a "substantial" Russian presence. My niece in fact lives there and is an officer in the Hermosa PD. I'm going to check with her and see what she knows about this.

The perpetrator, last name "Delgado" was not a local. He was from Winnetka which is waaay out in the San Fernando Valley. So, not local and definitely not Russian. That's two strikes.

"Community in the area" - - refers to Tri-city. I was born and raised.

Hung out a lot at Gambrinus, Redondo Beach Harbor. I mentioned Russian only because its mentioned in the OP.

Sadly, Hermosa is being gentrified.

That's a pretty shallow assessment of others. Personally, I don't care how much $$ people have or don't have. I assess people based upon their actions, not the size of their wallets.
