I was referring to AScrubWhoDied, not you. I agree with everything you posted. But now people are defending this story because of Kitty Genovese, a woman probably one dude heard about and obviously didn't bother to research. So another guy comes in, both probably Millennials, and says "None of you guys must have ever heard of Kitty Genovese, as if she's some precursor to the way kids act these days.

Youth culture is influenced by the adult world, And the BS we produce... Who are the American heroes? teachers, scientist, humanitarians? Nope, it's the people that kick ass, sports figures, the powerful on TV, Countless simulated murders on TV every day. What kind of video games do kids play? Are they violent? Glorified threats of violence even in our political realm...
What do you expect?
Look what I found.....just a few of the old ATS emojis...
We have met the enemy and he is us........pogo

gang member here in Chicago killed inside a house party. A portion of it was filmed. Must have been like 70 people in the room. Someone let off like 14 shots in a clear "gang hit"
Darwinian imperative?
Precisely...
Technology has sped up the process exponentially; And it will continue until draconian measures are applied. Either way it going to get gnarly. Glad I don't have kids....!
It's a paradox.
Have kids and hope that they make a difference or have kids and they become part of the machine.
I don't think we are at the point where it is too late yet. Take into account depopulation and that one, two or however many lives might be the change that humanity needs.
Your posts suggest you are somewhat successful in life.
Never give up.

I think you'd lose your paycheck. From the looks of it Oceanside NY looks pretty middle class suburbia to me.
Percentage of residents living in poverty in 2016: 5.2%

The other story I had about the girl getting punched over and over, was as hometown and apple pie as you get. If you want to get down to demographics it is considered one of the safest places in the entire United States.

They practice for hours and hours on xbox; killing another kid is just part of the game.
btw...I would welcome someone to have offspring that could change the culture instead of the spoiled brats I usually encounter

That has been proven time and time again as false. If it was true then the billions of other kids that play the same games would be violent too. On the other hand, parents have the vast majority of the influence in how their kids turn out to be. Negative or just plan lacking influence will reap bad kids that turn into bad adults.

The sad fact is that many kids in my generation were punished to the point of abuse. The pendulum swung too far and now this generation of kids were raised with almost zero discipline. Now if you say a harsh word to a child it is considered child abuse. Trust me they need it, especially teens.
They already made it, and its called Overwatch.

Guns are completely irrelevant to the story had there been a gun involved there would have been a stampede of kids running away not filming. You 2nd amendment hardcore's use every opportunity to deflect away from gun violence. I'm not anti 2nd amendment but the sheer denial and lack willingness to discuss gun violence baffles me. My theory is that guns are highly addicting to some and I have seen it with my own eyes when people feel the power of a gun it's like a drug and feel the need to keep buying gun after gun after gun, similar to tattoo enthusiasts.
