Engineer sees a "space portal" in his back yard....

So, did he see a ‘hole’ like how Wile.E.Cyote depicts them when he puts one in the road or wall; ie: a flat ‘hole’ ?

Or was it a sphere, which is what a circular hole is in 3D?

Quite important to note, I should think as I seriously doubt any ‘hole’ would be how it’s depicted in cartoons or Steam’s Portal2 game.

I reckon it would be 3 dimensional, so a sphere.
