Why does Ilhan Omar support Maduro who is being investigated by the ICC for Crimes Against Humanity?

Ilhan Omar happens to put the blame on the USA for Venezuela problems. Quite convenient isn't it? Possibly she will coin the next argument that Nicolás Maduro went off the deep end after watching too many episodes of "The Apprentice"? So really, how can she continue to support President Nicolás Maduro, who is being investigated for Crimes Against Humanity by the International Criminal Court [ICC] in the Netherlands. Actually, take a look at an article written several years ago about the Nicolás Maduro administration along with honorable mention to his predecessor, President Hugo Chávez. Note that that article was written on JULY 5, 2016, well before Trump was elected along with Vice President Pence and others in the administration who she continues to rail against. Five South American countries and Canada have asked the International Criminal Court, a Netherlands-based tribunal, to place Venezuela under investigation for crimes against humanity. This is the first time a country has been referred to the ICC for investigation by an outside state. Argentina, Colombia, Chile, Peru, Paraguay and Canada submitted their request on Wednesday to the court.

The alleged crimes in Venezuela date back to 2014, and include torture, the arbitrary detention of political opponents and anti-government protesters, and more than 8,000 extrajudicial executions cited in a dossier by the Organization of American States.

Jose Miguel Vivanco, head of the Americas division at Human Rights Watch, spoke to NPR, "Our research shows that the abuses in Venezuela were not isolated, or the results of excesses by rogue security forces members. Our documentation actually shows that multiple security forces committed widespread abuses repeatedly, over a period of months and years, in different locations across the country, including in controlled environments such as military installations, or police stations."

Easy. Because she is part of the opposition party. No matter what the Trump admin chooses to do, her side will choose the opposite, no matter what it is. Even if it means supporting dictators.

Those who think the US are the root of Venezuela's problems don't rally care who's in power here. It has nothing to do with who runs our system of government and everything to do with our economic system and the fact that we are a "white oppressive" system as far as they're concerned.

If we were a socialist government run by brown people, it wouldn't be our fault that Venezuela is like it is, but then, their mind games say that if we had been a socialist system run by brown people, Venezuela would be a flourishing world power ... so would Cuba.

She supports anything which goes against Judeo-Christian values of liberty. Her & leftists are against privacy/property rights, due-process, freedom of speech, electoral college, 2nd amendment, Israel as a nation, borders, free-markets, etc.. Her & the majority of leftists are anti-American & anti-Western civilization.

Easy Answer: Socialists have to stick together; no matter how many people are dying, you must support everyone of the like to avoid the horrible, horrible fate of....... having to admit you're a flaming derpwad with no intelligence or moral standing.

It's all about identity politics.

Some people do not have the capacity to lead, legislate. They are simple-minded morons.

So what they do is use their skin color, their gender preference, their religion, instead of using their minds.

My question is why do you frame the conversation as Omar supports Maduro? You did the same thing with AOC. I haven't found anything on either of the two actively supporting Maduro.

Don't get me wrong, both of them are idiots and have plenty of policy issues you could go after them on...

Many people support Maduro, whether explicitly or implicitly. Both would leave Maduro to his own devices if they had their way.

So here's a report on Human Rights violations in Venezuela by Amnesty International. Please read it so as to deny ignorance and plausible deniability. Look up House Resolution 1156 by Rep Banks. Look at what committee its in [Foreign Affairs] and who is on that committee. Lets watch what happens to it.
