Crazy strong winds tonight ripping through New Jersey

It feels like sandy out in my backyard. The trees are bending like they did when Sandy was here to visit.

There's sure a lot of energy driving the winds around on the planet. I wonder if there's a way to measure the total energy in the atmosphere?

i saw garbage spread all over hoboken, JUST an hour ago.
i did not even realize it was windy until i saw everything blowing around.

i guess its windy all over here.

We are having them in SE to S central PA as well. I'd guess 60-70mph gusts with 25-40 sustained. It's also pretty darn cold and unfortunately I have a lot of work I got to get done outside... The wind cuts right through to the bone it seems.

We've had 50 to 60 mph gusts in Chicago all day. Last night it was 51 degrees at this time. Tonight, it's going down to 2 degrees. Climate change doesn't come in like a lamb!

80 km winds up here in Northern ontario.
Been going strong since noon today.
Sheets of ice were blowing off the roofs.
If you were standing beside my house...you’d be very, very injured today.
Looks like spikes, rows of em, stuck in the snow.

Same here in Southeastern Ontario for yesterday night and this morning. 27,000 people lost power yesterday, and I was one of them, but power came back on rather quickly, so I will rethink buying that generator.
