CNN might look to invest in this in a bid to replace Acosta and reduce trumps stress levels

Agreed. So this won't change anything. It will eliminate jobs however.

Regardless of all of the political implications, the tech is cool. I mean it's been through a long road but to see where it's going is impressive.

I mean how is it cool?

It freaks me out.

You realize we are only a few short years from being completely unable to determine what is real and what is not right?

You do understand how much power that gives government right? It feels like we are destined to be slaves no matter what.

It's cool because someone made it. A form of art that has been carefully cultivated over quite a long period of time.

I think we're already there. When you boil down the sources of information to choose from you know as well as I do that it is very, VERY few. These points of failure are prone to manipulation and indecision. Evident as recently as the Acosta situation.

You do understand how much power that gives government right? It feels like we are destined to be slaves no matter what.

I sure do. Think of atomic energy. It has the power to destroy the planet AND provide infrastructure to prolong human life. This is surely not on that scale but you get the full dichotomy, yes? The slave comment is interesting. I don't think there has yet been a generation that has not had slavery so it's not new to the human condition. Now in context to your post, you may be right. Wouldn't take much given the current political/cultural climate.

An "automaton" news anchor. That is perfect for communists in China. No emotional antics with which to rile the citizens and cause them to have elevated adrenaline with which to oppose communist rulers like uneducated Xi Jinping who recently made himself ultimate leader with no term limit..

This is one reason for them doing this.

The term "Talking Heads" becomes a reality.
Time to bring back the radio.

The future is the elimination of all or nearly all jobs.

I would be ok with this. There is something honest about a programmed robot just reading the news.

You know its just a person somewhere else telling it what to say. You SEE the mask.

Opinion stands out when a robot states it.

No, no. No. No!

Nooo!

It's reading propaganda. Not news. And now it doesn't take sides, show emotions, or have tells when lying, because it doesn't know.

It would be cool if it could surf the net and pick and report on news stories in its own words.
