Memory size: N/A LOL, oh well.

Onboard video = bad idea (for gaming)
If it is Nvidia , you should be able to right-click on the desktop and click Nvidia Control Panel
Go to Help - System Information
Voila

ETA - If Intel or AMD , system tray icon

You can get some pretty compact single fan card that, more importantly, still use a 4 pin power connector(or none at all) that will probably work great.

Iirc, last time I looked for a friend, the smaller 1070 (3gb?) cards seemed to be a sweet spot, or maybe it was the 1060. Either would work well.

It's intel 2000 i believe. I know it wont run anything current. The motherboard said 1gb so I figured it might be ok for skyrim, but it looks like its not. Hopefully it runs Oblivion or morrowind.

Yeah , I just added some stuff to my post
64 bit?
SKyrim SE may work on mid-level
SkyrimSE is WAY above Oldrim in optimization.
If it is 64 bit , you will be surprised at what you can run (albeit with low-mid graphics settings)

(game companies set the minimum and recommended a bit higher to prevent complaints)

The only reason I say embedded = bad - embedded if it goes out , time to replace the entire system board.
Add on adapter ? A good time to upgrade

I have a 64 bit, and also my edition of skyrim is the original version. I wont download the hd graphics package and see if that helps.

Google.
Learn how to optimize Skyrim by editing skyrim.ini and skyrimprefs.ini
Find EnbBoost and the Memory Optimizer
You can do marvelous things with Enb and the enblocal.ini

If your goal is to play Skyrim, then with SE and a few mods. you should have no trouble.

However, as Gothmog pointed out, if you fry your vid card, that equal your Mobo as well.

This will help with any Bethesda game and using it's enbseries
VRam Size Test
Skyrim is DirectX 9

Using the ENBSeries , you can hypnotize Skyrim into believing it has way more video memory ....

This is what I have support.hp.com...

That answered one question: I need to get a low profile video card.

www.newegg.com...

But can any of these run Crysis on 4k at max settings?

It's irrelevant.

Given his PC.

support.hp.com...

Not a gaming pc by any stretch.

1050 or 1060 and the 1060 is pushing it.

It's limited by form factor and PSU.

I'm looking to turn it into a low-mid range for some games. I don't need to play on max settings or anything. I play on pc because a mouse and keyboard are easier for my hands.

PSU is 240w.

Both the 1050 and 1059Ti takes 300w

Honestly return it.

The highest grade game i have is skyrim so i'm just going to get a 1 gb card for now. I don't plan on getting any new pc games for a while, basically til I can afford to get a decent one.

If it's a card that runs off of board power alone, aren't those required specs peak draw?

I guess I'm saying that buying a decent card, that a machine potentially can't handle, isn't the end of the world.

I've built a few machines around a video card and not the other way around.

If he/she wants to buy a card and give it a go, its not the end of the world.

I also have a 340w power supply I'm hoping will fit in. I'll take a look tomorrow.

I was just jokin with ya using that old meme. A 1060 probably still couldnt. I think a 1050 would handle most games these days, but i mostly PS4 anymore so i'd trust your judgement.

What did you mean by saying the machine could not handle a video card? My understanding is the video card attaches to the bus via a pcie slot, so my assumption is it can communicate as fast as the bus can handle based on how many channels are assigned to that slot. Do you think the power supply is insufficient?

Gonna see if the store has anything in an atx case that's similar in price. Can't upgrade the power supply.
