Let’s call him a pedophile in potential, then.

I just think he should get a more severe punishment.

Close protection of Royals is carried out by special forces personnel , so who else did he provide close protection for ?

It does not matter what he says , he's been taught to resist interrogation, he's going to try and get out of the # however he can , and his partner was the one who wrote to Harry for help .

Putting search terms like that in , and being guilty and the sheer foul of beastiality , imo he should be on the register for life .

, try not to let anyone near your toddler or baby on their own .

I have no proof but I guarantee that whatever country's he was stationed in he most certainly acted upon his impulses to abuse children.

Can never be proven probably but thinking logically all but guarantees he has.

Logic based on emotion?? I love women and there are many beautiful women out in the world, yet I have never done anything ill towards them. Based on your "logic", then I must be a serial rapist, because "thinking logically all but guarantees" that I have.

If you're going to condemn a person, at least condemn them for things they've been proven to have done, not for things you assume they've done.

A soldier in a foreign country that has a destroyed social structure, no oversight and plenty of victims that need to eat of make money to survive or are in the wrong place at the wrong time?

Yeah he most definitely acted on his impulses.

I'd say it's almost 100% guaranteed that he has victims in whatever countries he was stationed in.

You go ahead and keep thinking that a man with over 10 000 images of child porn wouldn't take advantage of such a situation and I'll live in the real world where the only things stopping a pedophile in training is the law, courts and lack of opportunity. All things that wouldn't have hindered him.

When someone has 10 000 child porn images on his computer and gets busted for it he doesn't get the benefit of the doubt from me. I don't operate like that, you might but I don't.

This is very sad. There are no cures that truly work. These affected people can only be banished to places where they have no opportunities to be around children. That should include the ability to download porn etc.

Let's hope the judge is not too affected by royal influence to protect this sick person from the help they obviously need. Apparently this is a thing in the upper classes and royalty so he might be protecting someone higher up or even the judges themselves. We never know.

Once convicted it should be life in jail or a death sentence. One or the other.

Once convicted they should never have any opportunity to do it again. Never.

You are right, it we fantasize about something enough the chances become larger and larger that we will end up acting the fantasy out.

I fantasize about playing centerfield for the New York Yankees, the chances haven't seemed to increase whatsoever.

That is a stupid analogy.

You have no chance if ever playing for the Yankees.

A freak that fantasizes about sex with children has lots of opportunity to make that happen

C'mon man you're smarter than that.

That's incorrect. The protection of key Royals is carried out by the Royalty and Specialist Protection, which is a part of the Metropolitan Police. Prince Harry may have had several bodyguards in his life so far, taken from a pool of eligible personnel. They may have been members of special forces, armed services, the police, or whatever.

so please justice system, reform this individual.

I'm not so sure you can "reform" or cure a paedophile.
If there was no demand for the images, there would be no supply, so even if he personally has not touched a kid, his desire to see it has caused children to be molested.

Precisely, all his viewing of the images, he should be just as guilty as a child rapist for contributing to this happening.

Does this logic of punishing people for what they have not done go through to people who take drugs? Should a coke-sniffer be charged with committing murder in Mexico, or a heroine addict for enslavement in Afghanistan?

Let's hope he gets rehabilitated.

Far too much emphasis is put on rehabilitation of sexual offenders and not enough emphasis on the impact of their crimes on their victims.

It seems this person hasn't yet actually acted upon his urges....but should we take the risk and give him the opportunity to do so in the future?

For me in this instance the offender should be chemically castrated and placed on the sex offenders register for life.

What I find interesting is how my reply was formatted with the (?) placed beneath the last line; this is not how the reply was typed.

Let's hope he gets rehabilitated.(?)

Is the correct formatting. Hopefully this adds emphasis on the peculiarity of the idea of rehabilitating.

To rehabilitate would involve the reprogramming of pleasure synapses. Given that the greatest natural pleasure is sexual feelings, I do not think rehabilitation would be completely successful. I imagine a well trodden path, even after decades of growth and no treads, the path remains, easy to retread.

Unless of course there is a magic pill.

Castration would serve to remove appx 95% of the production of testosterone - therefore would this be a successful deterrent?

I've no issue with it being used, but it's not going to be a cure-all that some would like it to be.

It'll certainly help, though, and that's a good thing.

Play for the Yankees? Why would anyone want to do that?

Opportunities do not necessarily mean that one will, does it?

As the NSPCC spokesperson said :

"There are no excuses for looking at child abuse images. Children suffer horrific abuse in the real world in order for them to be made and those who access them help fuel this vile online trade."

Enough said, an example should have been made here in my opinion and the guy should have recieved a prison sentence.

Absolutely bloody disgusting.

Sadly

Lags

Yeah, but, looking at his former occupation it's pretty clear this guy knows things about important people and that is protecting him for now.

Amazing what connections, power and money can get you.

For the every day man or woman creeper it's go to gaol do not pass go.

But hey. This is how it is until we choose to change it.

How many of us? How many of 'them'?

Like ants on a grasshopper if we got off our butts.

He was not creating nor distributing content.
He was not found to have directly performed any physical acts, himself.

You make it seem like this is a full pardon. It was not. I read the full article. We don't know what the extent of the judge's other factors are.
However, he mentions that this man put his own life at risk to save others' lives. There must have been direct testimony or character witnesses.

He has an issue, that jail time won't fix.

I am sorry if i lead you to believe he got a full pardon, my mistake i guess.

"More than 10,000 images were discovered including more than 170 in the highest category and almost 80 of the next serious classification."

I do not care what the judges other factors are, the above statement should have seen him inside for a long, long time, you are correct that there was no mention of him harming a child himself but let me ask you this, would you leave a child in his company?!?!?!

Because he was employed in the military which he joined himself, he was not forced, and he put his life on the line which lets be honest, that was his bloody job and even if it was my life that he had saved, i would not have stood beside him in this case.
They all have an issue, it is called pedophilia and sadly there is no cure but in my eyes, children should be running around happy and safe.
Sorry but i just dont have your sympathy for these evil people.

And maybe in with the elite

TBH TrueBrit i can see service people come forward and complain about this, it just laughs in the face of our legal system.
Is our legal system broken or is it just full of pedos protecting each other? It is broken tho, badly.
