Timothy Murfitt used search terms such as 'toddler', 'kids' and 'baby girl pics' when he searched for more than 10,000 disturbing images of children.

But Murfitt - who also had pictures of adults having sex with animals - was spared jail by a judge who praised him for his 'exemplary' military service.
More than 10,000 images were discovered including more than 170 in the highest category and almost 80 of the next serious classification.

And another pedo walks away laughing at our legal system.
All them children let down once again.
Ohh and he had PTSD, I along with millions of others suffer PTSD but we do not go looking for this.

7 years on the sex offender registry
160 hours community service
2 year suspension from working

He received charges and penalties.
He was not creating nor distributing content.
He was not found to have directly performed any physical acts, himself.

You make it seem like this is a full pardon. It was not. I read the full article. We don't know what the extent of the judge's other factors are.
However, he mentions that this man put his own life at risk to save others' lives. There must have been direct testimony or character witnesses.

He has an issue, that jail time won't fix.

At least will prevent him from raping any kid. That's what jail is for. It's not for "fixing" anyone.

"They don't play by the same rules"

We see this a lot in the West, whether it be politicians, celebrities, or just well-connected people who are in the "inner circles".

Only us sheep are held accountable (and even exploited) for our transgressions

I appreciate your balanced approach. The only thing I disagree with is that by buying or acquiring pedo photos, you are part of the incentive for the creeps that profit off of exploiting children. He was definitely part of the supply and demand chain, so indirectly he is participating in pedophilia.

I do think his sentence reflects the influence of "royal" family.

Sounds like a guy who had the goods on other pedos and threatened to talk. I predict a suicide in the coming months.

A bullet would. To believe that he hasn't acted on his sick fantasies is delusional. He just didn't get caught at it.

These people are real. Sick perverted foul sewer flotsam. And there are lots of them. Downloading is Intent. Not just some flash while surfing the web. It's a destination. There's a real danger it may become allowed, and not just places like England and California, but progressive liberal strongholds. That is if it becomes legal.

Let us hope God intervenes .....

There is no way in which a person of any length of service, in any branch of service to the government, the Royal family, or any other individual or group, should be walking away from a court room without a sentence including a SIGNIFICANT stretch, inside a jail, given the nature of the crime itself.

Whether a sentence was handed down, whether he has to do community service, whether he has to pay penalties or join a register, is absolutely immaterial. All that matter is, did he do the thing? If so, then he should be in a concrete box for a decent spell at the very least.

That he is not shows that the justice system is deeply broken and does not understand the crime involved, nor the nature of the perpetrators in the slightest. This is exactly as good as no sentence at all, and it would be shocking if it were not so utterly predictable.

Time to investigate the judge - might have been in on it.
Absolutely disgusting.

Vigilante's might have to take care of this one- the justice system is truly criminal.

As long as he lusts for little kids, he will continue to do so until his lusts are fulfilled.

At first glance, this just reads like 'well you were good at killing people, so we'll let you off for being a paedophile'

(That wasn't a dig at the military, just to be clear)

As far as I can tell he did not touch any children. If he has I am interested in a source.

Personally I agree. I think people who have this problem need to be removed from society. Unfortunately that requires changing laws, until they are changed, we have to follow the laws.

I have no hate or ill will towards this person, I feel bad for him. Out of love my personal opinion is his life needs to be ended.

A person who has downloaded 10,000 files of CHILD PORN.

Do you think he'll not take the chance?

Do you have any kids?

I don't think so.

As the NSPCC spokesperson said :

"There are no excuses for looking at child abuse images. Children suffer horrific abuse in the real world in order for them to be made and those who access them help fuel this vile online trade."

Enough said, an example should have been made here in my opinion and the guy should have recieved a prison sentence.

Absolutely bloody disgusting.

Sadly

Hell, law doesn't even cover this guy. I don't feel bad for him, there are sick people out there that need to be killed or dropped into the middle of an uncivilized cannibalistic tribe in the Amazons. People who lust for murder, sex with babies, toddlers, and kids, etc. They're no good for civilized societies and civilized people. They're like a dog with rabies in a dog training class.
