Doom porn is essentially Christian.

The Bible is fear based and preparing us for Armageddon/apocalypse.... Morality or else dire consequences.

The phrase repeated the most often in the Bible is "Fear not." When you have a personal private relationship with our Creator Father ( not to be confused with religion) you quickly find that all things work together for good.

We are constantly at the end but not today.

I feel alive after reading doom porn, facing my darkest fears and still smiling!

And change is a normal part of existence and not to be feared should the doom come to fruition(not a new brand of yogurt).

Because we all want to run naked into the woods, and live like cavemen.

Because deep down we want it to just be over...as beautiful as life can be, most of the time its a mother f'er.

Me personally...

There's too much going on and it's all uncontrollable. The politics are confusing and have devolved into a cesspool of grown children kicking and screaming, and there are so many people (and so many assholes who screw us over in our daily lives), not to mention the stress of bills and taxes and 9-to-5 jobs and the complexities of our lives combined with the confusion of all the belief systems we have - I think we're all allured to the idea of a clean slate.

New world, simpler, fresh start, and we define our own significance instead of life trampling us into the ground. At least, that's the way I see it. That's why I write apocalypse stories - I like a world where my MCs really matter, and their world isn't dictated by the complexity and drama in our routine lives.
