Dandelions, those noxious weeds which take over your lawn if you let them. Damn them all!! Right?

Well, hang on a second...pull 'em out by the root when they're nice and fresh, boil them down and they can be made into a pretty nice wine, believe it or not! But, if you're really good you can make a jam out of them even!!

Dandelion jam on a piece of homemade angel food cake...OH MAN!!

(THUD!!)

P.S. Try it on sourdough toast with a little butter too! (Your socks will shoot right off your feet!)

Toilet hooch? Really?? I came here looking to get some THC-infused marmalade tips...left with a hooch recipe. That’s an impressive feat. Bravo 👏

Jailhouse hooch is typically made with raisins as I understand it, but yeah.

Funny, a friend and I were talking about dandelion recently. Dandelion soup, dandelion salad; depression era staples.

I always had an urge to eat raw dandelion growing in right field back in the days of little league.

I just remember blowing the flowers as a kid in Germany.

The elders said it was good luck.

The Mandela effect?
Because every test photo or screen seems to start with some kid blowing the flower.

Now wondering, did it exist, or I'm just combining things in my mind.

Don't dis the Pruno, bro.

tomato sauce goes well with everything!

I add lavender to cheap wine, it's quite similar.

I've made dandelion wine for over a decade. Learned it from Dad.

The milk can be used for acne or ringworm.

And yes, eating it is great for you.

Glad you found an old friend of mine.

I just want to say that I feel badly and guilty for killing all those dandelions in our lawn growing up . We were told they were bad weeds ... No idea they were this good for you in vitamins and health .

Dandelion is packed full of nutrition. The roots are packed full of medicinal properties, these qualities are mostly heat stable. www.livestrong.com...

Dandelion has lots of shared benefits to Holy Thistle, also referred to as milk Thistle. The roots are great for cleansing the liver. It is very important to not use dandelions that have been treated with pesticides and other bad chemistries though, the plant will uptake some of these. Dandelions actually secrete chemicals from the roots that dissolve sand and rock to extract the minerals, so they grow in just about any area. The potato has the same kind of secretion, that is why potatoes grow well on sandy soil and after many years of planting the soils turn to dust.

I'd like to taste some of that some day, maybe I will make some freezer jam from them. I respect the dandelions as a natural medicine, I have no intent on putting chemicals in the yard to kill them.

Sage brush.
