Ok so this morning before work I’m going through Twitter when I come across this thread.

Allegedly a Q400 plane has took off unauthorised and a pair of F15s have been scrambled to give chase.

The plane is allegedly stolen and the ‘Pilot’ done an a few rolls and reckless flying. Details are very sketchy at the moment. I can’t find anything on any news site.

The F15s were from the 142 Fighter Wing. The incident occurred over Seattle.

There may be a crash site.

Quote from Tyler Rogoway twitter account:

So 142nd FW F-15s scrambled to Seattle and have intercepted what is supposedly a Q400 that may have taken off without permission. Details could totally change but that’s what I have so far. The scramble was 100% legit over land to Seattle. Incident ongoing...

Best way to quit your job ever!

(Until you die in a fiery crash or spend the rest of your life behind bars -- kids, always get your parents' permission before attempting to fly)

Seattle confirm security incident at the airport.

Plane has supposedly crashed in Ketron island

The guy was in regular contact with Seattle tower who tried to talk him down

He reported one engine possibly being lost and talking about jail terms.

Considering the maneuvers he was pulling, no.

Hey question:

A few of the reports about the F-15s has one of them jumping up in a vertical move right before the plane went down. Any Idea's?

Getting clear of the aircraft after a sudden maneuver probably. One flies next to the aircraft fairly close. If it made a sudden maneuver, he'd have to react pretty quick to get clear. Fastest way to do that is up.

I have read that just before he crashed. There was a moment he almost went down in chambers bay.

Authorities confirm the guy was a suicidel 29yo male.

Maneuvering the way he did, and not being a pilot, he put a lot of stress on the engines and airframe.

Not the fastest, but the safest.

Another possibility is the tailer went guns hot, which also means you want to get out of dodge.

All the sources are saying the F-15s weren't involved in the crash.

Has this ever happened before that you remember?

I know we've had hijackings but for some reason this sounds like a spur of the moment joy-ride to the death kinda spontaneous thing...

This was really dumb of him to do honestly.

Glad to know the AF was all up on him like that.

A few times. Happened a number of times with military aircraft. It's usually a spur of the moment thing, not well planned out.

Ole Thomas Fitzpatrick is my favorite for this sort of thing, but it wasn't tragic.
