Break this monopoly up. It is a matter of national security, all tech giants must release their monopoly on information at once (and immediately stop abusing said monopoly to suppress political speech they disagree with)

Disgusting, fascist, worthless, useless, authoritarian, radical, alt, unwanted far-left.

Apple and Facebook will surely delete the NYTimes for hiring hateful racist editor Sarah Jeoung!?? No, you say!!?? Why not!!?? plenty of evidence there.

Newest Member of NYT Editorial Board Has History of Racist Tweets

I think this has more to do as an assault on independent media. Already some have moved their content to other service than YouTube to avoid censorship. Platforms like Real Video by Natural News Mike Adams is already welcoming people to publish their content without censorship.

The web was going to be controlled regardless.

Be it by ideological corporate or ideological government.

They have been trying to get control of it but they couldn't because of net neutrality principles.Net neutrality was what kept them from getting control of it. Their was no one ideological corporate or ideological government that could control the Internet because net neutrality was specifically designed to prevent any one ownership

However, now that the republicans repealed it they have the opportunity to take FULL control of it.

In summary:

The republicans took care of censorship at the site level and the democrats are taking care of content censorship inside the site.

End result: GOP and DNC joined forces to give 100% control of the Internet to mega corporations and big brother.

To be fair its only a monopoly if its all owned by the same company

I thought we were for the free market?

Are we now on the right saying companies should only get so big and make a certain amount of money and be governed by the government?

Wow. You know, many of us disagree with or dislike Trump. But other than 'deplorables" you don't' see many of us attacking our fellow Americans like this.

I wonder why that is? Not to say it never happens, but there are many of you who seem to actually hate, rather than simply disagree with those who have different mind sets.

It troubles me.

Can't say I'm a fan either, and I don't sympathize with AJ's plight either.

Also, what's wrong with editing my post?

Because I believe that internet access should be a public utility, but that is a discussion for a different thread.

While I agree with you , its irrelevant on the topic of censorship.

So if Internet access were to become a public utility you would be ok with giving private companies the right to block sites they choose? I would assume not.

We shouldn't be encouraging or supporting any type of censorship by gov't or private companies.

How is anyone getting blocked here? You still have access to Alex Jones' content. Just go to his website.

...For now.

First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a socialist.

Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

Thats not what I asked. The question is why do you feel ok with the private companies censoring content but not ok with private companies censoring websites?

What you can call it is censorship, which is plainly fascist. Is Apple censoring NYTimes for hiring a sexist, racist editor!? No! This is a targeted assault on independent media. You realize that Google delisted ATS and put them on a list for IT people to censor so employees can not visit this site, right!!?? ATS was put up there with porn sites and took a hit in revenue. That's what it's about. No independent thought for you...move along!!!!

You said this:
"you would be ok with giving private companies the right to block sites they choose?"
That isn't something that would happen if the internet were a public utility. Private companies don't block websites. Alex Jones isn't being blocked today. He is being dropped from Apple's content for violating their EULA. Yet you are trying to make it a free speech issue, but then ignore the fact free speech is only protected from the government infringing on it. So the only time I'd have a problem is if the government started blocking websites.

Ok. Let's make this clearer since you recited that poem. That poem is about the Nazis pulling people off of the street and sending them to camps. So you just compared Apple kicking Alex Jones off of their services to the Nazi government sending people to concentration camps. AGAIN this is Godwin's Law and you are literally out of hand here. No it isn't fascism. That is the dumbest thing I've heard in this thread. Way to take the taco.

Oh you are so naive. This is how it starts. Little by little the Jewish people lost their rights and free speech. Don't be such a sheep!! Do I need to make this into a coloring book for you to understand it!??
