Hitler was the leader of a country. Hogg is a leader of a bunch of teen activists. Do you not see the difference?

I haven’t heard him saying he hates Jews, or that he wants to invade other countries. Why are you making this comparison?

Hitler was young once.

Hitler fooled people into giving him leadership, the same thing the controlled media is attempting with this Hitler Youth.

There is no difference as far as origins...

Hitler talked about making Germany great again. Sound familiar?

Trump isn't going for the guns and is not promoting socialism so, no.

I wonder will Herr Hogg try and delete his Reddit account and claim it's not his?

I read through his comments and didn't think there was any epic hypocrisy.

Actually the most eyebrow raising thing I noticed was this:

...because he repeatedly commented about wanting to do journalism and even mentioned wanting to work for '60 Minutes,' some day.

So, does the FBI employ many journalists that work in television news? I don't see how his two career goals mesh unless he knows something the rest of us don't.

So was Ghandi - so was Martin Luther King Jr. - so was Jesus - so were you. Why can’t we compare those people to Hogg?

Maybe not yet.... Although he did mention getting rid of due process in gun discussions.

Usually brought up people who are supporters of a church that raped children.

I'm really getting tired of being compared to a few pedophilical 'priests' because I happen to believe in God. That comparison is much less appropriate than comparing this kid to a fascist, because he is proposing actions (confiscation of weapons) that are conducive to a Nazi state, while the vast majority of Christians abhor and denounce any improper action toward children.

Painting an 8-foot wall with a 20-foot brush makes for a poor paint job. And a painter covered in his own paint.

I agree that it is fallacious to paint groups of people with such broad brushes. It does not facilitate intelligent discussions.

On the other hand, it is also fallacious to make comparisons to a Nazi state. While we may be able to find points of comparison with the Nazis and current situations, that could be said about a wide variety of issues and only serves to shut own intelligent discourse through the use of hyperbole.

Yes, because why study history and learn from previous mistakes, then prevent those mistakes from recurring; much easier to just live it all over again! /s

I may disagree with Hogg's view and find him distasteful personally but let's face it - everyone's a hypocrite. You could take any persons online postings and find things you might think are over the top. Big deal. The internet is a place to let out all those negative thoughts we don't get to express in person. I'll take a pass on criticizing the kid for his Reddit posts, thanks.

What evidence is there proving this is his Reddit account.?

'DavisGreen111' says he is 'David Hogg' in this thread: Link

(Keep in mind that he posted that 7 months ago).

And if you follow the video link in the OP to YouTube, it connects to David Hogg's youtube account.

Thank you for that. Confirmed as best I can tell.

Is there something specifically controversial I should be examining in his Reddit history?

I would think because of the actions and stated goals of Hogg? Pretty evident Hogg is not for peace or equailty.

I thought his comment that malaria is good thing because it kills 'billions' of humans to be somewhat telling. It betrays his progressive mindset.

There is plenty in his comments that suggests he is way down on the left end of the U.S. political spectrum. But, I guess I already assumed he was.

That is irrelevant to the point I was making, except that it highlights the fact that reason and logic are tossed aside in favor of dramatics and hyperbole.

All I said is that painting with such broad brushes is illogical. How you came up with that meaning we should not learn from history is beyond me.

Wow. This thread is a reach! So in order for someone to be credible in their public life they can never have acted like a childish troll on the internet? I mean a video of Hogg acting like a child on the internet considering his age?!?!? OMG REACH FOR THOSE PEARLS IMMEDIATELY!

Y'all are TERRIFIED of this kid. It's beyond obvious with all the weak character assassination threads you guys do against him.

He’s against violence, specifically gun violence. He helped organize a protest march that was peaceful. He talks about using our votes to make things happen, not using violence. Sure, he has said some dorky things (not that unusual for a teen), but as far as I know, he hasn’t hurt anybody.

I say it again, why is this newsworthy or threadworthy?

Hold on...you mean to tell me a teenager is hypocritical, angry, depressed, hormonal, excitable, reactionary, unreasonable, and in turn succinct, reasonable, intelligent, focused and driven? And can exhibit any of these emotions or states of being within minutes of each other? OMG!

LOL

Do non of you guys actually know any teenagers?

I read the last four or five pages of this thread and I found myself wondering why you so adamantly defend this kid. He has more than enough questionable statements and things on web pages to at least raise an eyebrow or two.

What is it called when you see something on the internet that you disagree with so you claim it is fake but then you see something on the internet that you agree with so you demand that it is real and true even though you have no actual evidence of either one? There is a name for that...
