" During this time, Leonard Peltier who had acted as security coordinator for the Trail of Broken Treaties caravan, was beaten(22 November, 1972) while eating dinner at a restaurant by two Milwaukee police officers who then arrested him for attempting to murder one of his attackers.[15] Unfortunately for the prosecution, one of the police officers bragged to his girlfriend who then testified for the defense in court that he had just been "helping the FBI get a big one."[16] About this same time, Russell Means who as leader of the remaining members of the caravan was arrested for unknowingly violating the Pine Ridge Reservations ban on any AIM member speaking at or attending any public meeting on the reservation.[17] Roughly two months later, Russell Means, as well as several other AIM members were arrested as a result of trumped up charges while attending an Chicano-Indian Unity Conference in Scottsbluff, Nebraska put on by the Crusade for Justice.[18] In the Scottsbluff case, the officers were much more inventive than the officers who had arrested and beat Peltier two months earlier in Milwaukee in an attempt to have reason to assassinate Means, during the night while means was in his cell, a pistol was laid in the cell and the door opened so that he could leave and then be shot.[19] When Means refused to leave the cell or to touch the pistol, the official report claimed that the search of Means' person had been poorly conducted and as a result Means was able to carry a loaded pistol into his cell.[20]
Many of the Bureau's most despicable acts were conducted behind a thinly veiled screen by an puppet organization, which served as a veritable FBI death squad. This organization was called the Guardians Of the Oglala Nation (GOONs). The GOONs were organized by a grant given by the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) to form an "tribal ranger group".[21] The FBI rather than the BIA came to control the GOONs who were armed with M-16 automatic rifles and unlimited amounts of ammo by the FBI during the siege at Wounded Knee, South Dakota which was located on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation.[22] During the siege, U.S. Marshals refused to associate with the "murderous drunken bums."[23] During the siege at Wounded Knee, Special Agent in Charge Joseph Trimbach took personal charge of the GOONs and reservation police.[24] This official direct control was to last throughout the siege. After the siege ended, Bureau control of the GOONs was exerted through the person of Dick Wilson, the anti-AIM leader of the Pine Ridge Reservation.[25]
During the thirty-six months between 1973 and 1976, more than sixty murders and three hundred and fifty assaults of AIM members and supporters took place on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation.[26] During this same period of time, the FBI who held "preeminent jurisdiction" failed to solve a single case.[27] Many of the cases were never investigated.[28] Even though witnesses gave clear descriptions of members of the GOONs whom, in the majority of cases, were involved in the murders and assaults.[29] During the time that these murders were not being investigated by the FBI, five hundred and sixty two AIM members and supporters were arrested for small crimes with a total of fifteen actually being found guilty.[30]
Further Evidence of GOON-FBI collusion, is seen in the murder of Pedro Bissonette a prominent young leader of the Independent Oglala Nation which was closely associated with AIM. After being assaulted by a GOON because of his support for AIM, Bissonette was chased across the reservation by FBI spotter planes in the air and GOONs on the ground. Once stopped at a roadblock, Bissonnette was beaten and then shot seven times with a .38 caliber pistol in the chest at what appeared to be point blank range. Incidents similar to this one occurred numerous times to members of the AIM and its supporters on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation with little or no investigation taking place.
Not only were threats, false arrests and assassinations used to eliminate AIM opposition, but kidnapping also played an important role as well. Of the once vibrant strong active American Indian Movement, there is yet a shadow that still exists. The COINTELPRO in many ways was a success. AIM leadership is fractured and plagued by infighting as a result of the Bureau fed rumors of informants in the midst. Perhaps the greatest tragedy is the fact that AIM is not able to command the large crowds dedicated to the cause of equal rights because of the fear of FBI harassment and death.
The FBI has certainly not ended its reign of terror against groups and people who find themselves at odds with the ruling sector of American society. Its abuses continue to this very day. In the past ten years evidence has been released that shows undeniable proof that the Bureau has tampered with witnesses, killed innocent victims, planted evidence, and harassed members of society who have become blacklisted by the FBI.
Because of the many years of abuses by the FBI, the only way to fight FBI terrorism is to bring all evidence of abuse truthfully to the eye of the public. After the evidence has been carefully reviewed, appropriate legal action should be taken by the Congress to limit the power of the FBI. In addition, an independent branch of the Justice Department should be solely tasked with reviewing all cases of reported FBI misconduct. Following a 2-1/2 year probe, bureau officials closed the investigation in May 1999, noting that agents were unable to corroborate information provided by two confidential FBI sources.

During the ‘60s, the FBI, under the direction of the demented, bitter Mr. Hoover, through Cointelpro, assassinated the character, mental and physical bodies of organizations and individuals including SNCC (Student Non-violent Coordinating Committee), RNA (Republic of New Africa), RAM (Revolutionary Action Movement), the Black Panther Party, Malcolm X, Martin Luther King Jr. and countless other liberators.
Many people believed that during the ‘70s, after documents on Cointelpro were exposed, the counterinsurgency program ended. Nothing could be further from the truth.
As proof that Cointelpro is alive and well in recent years, you could examine the government orchestrated infamous “East-West rap beef” between New York rapper Notorious B.I.G. and California political thug rapper Tupac Shakur. Tupac, the son of two former Black Panthers, Afeni Shakur (Panther 21) and his stepfather Dr. Mutulu Shakur (currently a political prisoner), was assassinated due to his family background and political beliefs.
The Notorious B.I.G., who was later killed as well, being the most popular rap artist on the East Coast, was simply used as a tool to make the beef look authentic. It should be noted that shortly after the assassination of Tupac, his cousin Yafu Kadaffi was also assassinated. Kadaffi just so happened to be the son of another prominent movement figure, Sekou Odinga, who is also currently a political prisoner.
For a more recent glimpse of Cointelpro in full effect, take into account the re-framing of Aaron Patterson in Chicago just last week. Aaron Patterson, our warrior comrade, who was pardoned and unleashed after 18 years on death row for a double homicide he did not commit, was framed again on Thursday, Aug. 5, on what the state alleged were gun and drug charges.
We know the real reason is that since Aaron Patterson was unleashed, he has been a practitioner of the Harriet Tubman Code - Leave no man behind - and has organized support of the African Anti-Terrorism Bill. It should be further noted that while in prison, Aaron Patterson and other Black men were tortured to force confessions to crimes they did not commit.
Aaron had recently filed a lawsuit against former Chicago Police Commander Jon Burge, a ringleader in the House of Screams, where the victims had electroshocks placed to their testicles and were continuously tortured. Aaron is currently being held in Chicago without bail, and has a court date today, Aug. 11.

Pac was insignificant of a global scale. He might have been a huge entertainer in the black community, but thats it.
I respect your opinion, but I have to disagree. Tupac had a global fanbase which reached millions of people from all realms of life. Many of his fans were white. To call his influence on modern day culture insignificant would be very wrong indeed.

When people point the finger of accusation at Suge Knight, they forget about the lawyers, accountants, financial advisors etc responsible for making decisions for Suge Knight and Death Row Records. Suge Knight employed David Kenner, as his acting attorney. Steve Steiner and David Chesnoff were the financial advisors for Death Row Records. All three happen to be Jewish.
First and foremost, Suge Knight is a capitalist who understands how the entertainment industry works. He is a record company CEO who makes his money by exploiting the violent subculture of black on black crime and selling it to surburban white kids as entertainment. This is no different to what Don King does to purposely exploits young black boxers for monetary gain.
Before his death, Tupac planned on setting up a political party representing ethnic solidarity. Political movements which embrace racial unity, is considered a major threat to the current American regime. The American Government will stop at nothing to disband movements which call for the total liberation of Blacks. The intent for groups like the ADL and JDL, and Government sponsored programs like COINTELPRO is to disrupt and prevent racial solidarity in Black communities.
At one time or another, the adult figures who were closest to Tupac, throughout his childhood were on the run from Government Law Agencies. Tupac was brought up from an early age to be politically aware. His mother,Afeni Shakur, and his father, Billy Garland, were members of the Revolutionary 60s Black Panther Party.
-In 1969 Afeni was charged by the FBI for conspiring to blow up department stores and Government buildings- charges which later proved fictitious. She was incarcerated in the Women's House of Detention in Greenwich Village.
-Tupac's stepfather, Mutulu Shakur,was on the FBI's Ten Most Wanted List, back in March 1982- indicted by a federal grand jury under a set of U.S. conspiracy laws called "Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organization" (RICO) laws. Mutulu Shakur was charged with conspiracy and participation in a clandestine paramilitary unit that carried out attempted expropriations from several banks.
-Tupac's godfather Elmer 'Geronimo' Pratt, a deputy minister in the Black Panther Party, was sentenced to life in a California prison after his conviction for the murder of a white Los Angeles grammar school teacher. Geronimo Pratt walked out of prison in June 1997 after his conviction was overturned by an Orange County Superior Court judge, who declared that the Los Angeles County District Attorney's prosecution was unlawful and corrupt. His conviction was reversed on the grounds that the US government suppressed evidence favorable to him at his trial, notably that the principal witness against him was a paid police informant. The decision was handed down midway through Pratt's 26th year in prison.
-In 1973, Tupac's aunt, Assata Shakur was falsely charged with killing both Zayd Malik Shakur, who was her closest friend and comrade, and the death of Police trooper Werner Forester. Although he was also unarmed, and the gun that killed trooper Forester was found under Zayd’s leg, Sundiata Acoli, who was captured later, was also charged with both deaths. Neither Sundiata Acoli nor Assata ever received a fair trial.
The people responsible for Tupac and Biggie's death will never be found. They are in a position of power to slip away unnoticed, whilst covering up their tracks. We will never hear anything in the press which talks about COINTELPRO who were responsible for imprisoning key members of Tupac's family during his childhood.. Nor do we read about the death threats, money extortion, which Tupac suffered at the hands of the Jewish Defence League and various other organisations. There is scant mention about the federal investigations (FBI, ATF and IRS) pertaining to Tupac, or Biggie, or the fact that both rappers were under surveillance in the general time period or night of their murders. People in this forum also seem to be overlooking the JDL/ADL association with COINTELPRO. All these elements point to the direction, that there was a deeper motive concerning the murder of Tupac Shakur.
Unless someone is willing to retrieve these secret documents from the White House, then the ugly truth beind these murders will always remain under lock and key.
And as far as Zionism goes, I urge people to open up their minds, instead of hiding behind the ignorant veil of shame. By not delving deeper into the truth, for fear of being stigmatised, you are in fact playing right into their hands. "Anti-semetism" is a code word to prevent people from speaking out against Zionism. I have much love for Tupac. He was born and raised in the same Neighbourhood as me, the Bronx. His music reflected MY generation and MY people. He brought us the truth on all levels. No, but the FBI reports reveal that he was being receiving death threats and being harassed by the Jewish Defense League. Nobody in here seems even remotely interested in asking why this happened. Why was an active terrorist organisation like the JDL interfering with Eazy and Tupac's business affairs? What reason did the JDL have for making "death threats" and extolling money from two rap musicians?
