What do you considered right and left leanings?

I believe that in general, the "left" can be considered as thinking that most people are inherently "good," and if they do bad things it's because they weren't given opportunities to do something else.

The "right" on the other hand, thinks that most people are if not exactly "bad," then at least opportunistic and clever and will take advantage of every chance to rip someone off or hurt them for their own advantage.

Their common ground is that they both believe that they are morally and intellectually superior to the average Joe and know exactly the right way to deal with people. It's very condescending either way.

I tend to find the idea of left and right quite narrow and limited.

People are quite complex social creatures and I find it very liming to lump them in an either or category.

Though this might make them easier to control using polarization.


I prefer the political compass it's not perfect but it's a step in the right direction.

This one is a humorous example that I enjoy.

The true meaning, left/equality/compassion and heart, is Mom and freedom is Dad and they need to be wed.

I like Norway's government best, and they didn't join the Eu and have a terrific economy.

But its something that needs to be way better than earth governments and involve educating and raising children to be capable of managing whole systems in abundance, homes/land for all, self sufficiency, energy productions, aquaponics so prepared for disasters and equal, but freedom of speech and movement and everyone raised to be capable of managing whole nations and even galaxies, no corrupt elite. But not incompetent lazy people who just hand the power away to anyone that would fill in the void, but intelligent wise people.

Every society in history, since 100% capitalism has never even been attempted..


The reason we don’t still have lead gasoline and paint is because of government regulation..

The reason most are cities are not smog filled disasters is the clean air act..

We stopped using ozone eating sprays because of government regulation..

Without those thinkgs we would be China..

That pretty much sums it up. Leftists believe centralized government normally it's authoritarian related gun grabbing, fascism, communism anything where the government is above the people. Centrists believes in a balance of government and people that's where the Constitution sits and America was founded on. Right believes in limited government and far right is no government.

Over time we move more and more left until we get a centralized government that's why leftism must be fought against and avoided.

Also, u can not pollute under the constitution. Property rights are protected. So leftism is not needed. The Constitution will resolve all the problems.
As long as our leaders abide by them. U want to remain in the middle. Leftism is the biggest threat to the rule of law. They think they can override the law by mob rule. That was how Hitler, Ho Chi Minh, and Stalin came to power. The moron mob override the law and gave them the power. That is why Democracy is also a failure. The majority are really morons. U need a Republic representative like the Constitution. Where smarter people are voted in to legislate instead of a bunch of morons deciding how they feel that day under Democracy which is mob rule. That's how rome fell when the mob demanded handouts and voted for me me me and also how the Ceasar came to be under mob rule.

The diamond chart is inaccurate. Libertarian is basically classical liberalism. So overtime it will move all over the place. There is only one most accurate chart that has last over the test of time.

In US government left/right tends to refer to size and scope of government where Europe should traditionally used it to refer to conservative/progressive. Pro strong government was a right wing view. This has changed with Europe now using a more American meaning more often.

I often think As needs needs a glossary of terms that we could all agree to use.

Every thread on socialism dissolves into a fight about what is and isn't socialism.

Every thread on guns has more posts about what constitutes an assault weapon.

If people actually agreed on what words meant then we might actually have a better standard of discussion.

I don't believe in the benevolence of corporations. I believe in the benevolence of man and free markets. Big difference. While the left believes charity should be through government, I believe society has shown we will take care of those who cannot take care of themselves.

Who are you kidding. Have you seen the homeless epidemic in USA.
