Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer have apparently demanded that House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes be removed as Chair !!

They are pounding the "changes" made to das Memo per requests.

Those changes are apparently small and grammatical and didn't really change the impact of the content.

These attempts to block das Memo are 100% political and will soon backfire on Democrat Leadership.

This isn't the first time they tried to remove Nunes either, Adam Schiff asked Nunes to remove himself way back in March 2017.

😱

Pelosi Sends Letter to Speaker Ryan Calling for Removal of Chairman Nunes and End to House Republicans’ Partisan Charade

Today, Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi sent a letter to Speaker Paul Ryan demanding the removal of House Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes after it was revealed that he altered the contents of a reckless, partisan memo released to the White House after it had already been voted on by the Committee and presented to House Members. Chairman Nunes’ action is a violation of House rules and is part of a partisan pattern to discredit the investigations into the Trump-Russia scandal. Both the Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation have warned against the release of Nunes’ memo, stating grave concerns about the accuracy of the memo and its misrepresentation of classified information.

Leader Pelosi wrote, “Chairman Nunes’ deliberately dishonest actions make him unfit to serve as Chairman, and he must be immediately removed from this position… House Republicans’ pattern of obstruction and cover-up to hide the truth about the Trump-Russia scandal represents a threat to our intelligence and our national security… It is long overdue that you, as Speaker, put an end to this charade and hold Chairman Nunes and all Congressional Republicans accountable to the oath they have taken to support and defend the Constitution, and protect the American people.”

Dems are big believers in the old adage "the best defense is a good offense".

They've filed ethics charges against Nunes before, but the House ethics board cleared Nunes.

Apparently, the Dems are upset that Nunes has ethics. It's something totally beyond their comprehension.

and End to House Republicans’ Partisan Charade

Spin doctors need a new turn-table.

Hypocrisy in action if I've ever seen it.

Partisan charade, that's comical.

No, I'm not saying anything.

Why would you *think* das Memo would be released without review?

There's all kinds of classified stuff involved.

This isn't the last Administration and they are trying their best to do things legally now.

Not in Kansas anymore toto 📡

You're right! It sounds like they are trying to stop the HIC investigation into the DOJ and FBI! *gasp*

I'm surprised Pelosi even remembered Dennis Nunes of the super secret agency DNA. How about a nice medical examination? POTUS did it and i think it's only fair if he returns the favor. The panic that this memo causes is unreal. Floodgate is about to get real. Don't miss it.

The ethics complaints were filed by watchdog groups (Democracy 21 and Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington) and dealt specifically with whether or not Nunes improperly shared highly classified information in press conferences. That's what he was cleared of doing by the GOP-run HEC.

Interestingly, the HEC reportedly was never able to access the highly classified documents in question.

The Circumscribed Ethics Investigation Into Devin Nunes

But the committee was never able to obtain or review the classified information at the heart of the inquiry, according to three congressional sources briefed on the investigation who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to the press. The panel’s inability to determine for itself what may or may not have been classified—and what Nunes had actually been shown—likely contributed to its decision to close the investigation, according to one source.

Nunes is a partisan hack and a shill for Trump. He's abused his position to unilaterally launch side projects in coordination with the administration, to derail investigations into Russian interference in the election at the behest of the administration. He's turned the formerly bipartisan HPSCI into a partisan #show.

Ethics? What ethics?

derail investigations into Russian interference in the election

Russia! Russia! Russia!

Best way to derail the Russian interference investigation is to do nothing at all. It runs out of tracks quickly enough.

But, it's fun to watch nonetheless.

actually, that is actually what some of the tickets invited people to...
the state of the uniom. they were distributed like that but then called back and replaced.

and, posting on these boards is a far cry from ordering something to be printed, print it, box it up and ship it out, and then distributed, hung up or whatever. there are at least five different times where the thing should have been inspected.

and, sorry, but voting to release a memo with grammatical errors, like xuenchen seems to be suggest happened, is kind of like handing in your homework assignment without checking over for spelling/ grammatical errors.

I've seen that look before, it's the one a person makes when the truth hurts and they are trying really hard to hide the pain.

but, you seem to have been suggesting that the changes were mostly done to the grammer and such...
I would hope that they would change it if after the intelligence agencies looked at it found a national security issue with it. but, if you are voting to release a document, it seems to reason, you would want to have all the grammer and such right before you considered releasing it? kind of like how you would want any bill you are considering voting on to be readable and in neat form, without unreadable handwritten text on both sides of the margins..

in other words....
I think our lawmakers might need to go back to grade school, it seems like their documents wouldn't pass the muster in most classes.
