You're right, the article went on but in the end, that person chose to get the procedure on the USA. He could easily have gone elsewhere in Canada.

Yes. He could have had it done at Toronto General, where they did my liver transplant. Top 5 hospital in the world. It's a matter of choice. Your source also said that Americans come to Canada for procedures. Again a matter of choice.

In B.C.(other provinces perhaps) there are some private clinics, for testing such as MRI's(long wait in public system) also do surgeries..etc. The govt has fought them and the concept of private insurance and providers outside of the current system. They are hesitant to allow a two tiered system, To me, the the allowing of a private system takes pressure of the public system..which is understaffed and perhaps underfunded. I suppose there is never enough funding.

Well I countered your opinion with facts. You can dismiss those facts with rhetoric and insults. Doesn't mean that you are correct. Just means your argument has no legs. Or belly button. Hell, no substance whatsoever.

There is no arguement .... evidence of the corruption within the Canadian system causing failures which impact the majority is presented....and your evidence of the systems sucess which impacts the minority is presented.

Believing your own lies does not make them true fact.....you countered nothing .......you are a minority voice who is thankfully a survivor who is complicitly loyal to the rotten crooked system that saved you....above and beyond giving a darn about what anyone else has to say think or feel on the subject...you by proxy of blind loyalty ignore and disrespect the many many millions of people who have been screwed by the screwed up Canadian system and the many thousands and thousands who have died due to this constellation of peripheral negative impacts.

I didnt offer opinion....and facts dont change....the same system that saved your life martyrs many many more every single day in the name of feeding the corrupt crooked health care system and its beneficiaries in private industry.

Yeah, but it is free....

If you can live with whatever undiagnosed problem you have for years before seeing a specialist and getting imaging diagnostics.

Well that is the problem, it is not free, need to pay the piper at some point. If that cost means 10% of the needed availability to make it free to the user then that is the way it goes.

I know a few Canadians that pay for healthcare coverage in the states.....

Is it possible to purchase private, enhanced, coverage. Over and above the government provided care?

Canada have a communist based medical system. The pro is that it cost "apparently" nothing (in fact is factured to anyone by taxation). The bad is that like the good old CCCP, since the gouvernment is the provider and the "police" for the system, there is a strong push to cut cost by reducing quality of care, but at the same time increase exponentially the bureaucracy involved.

Also, there is a tendency for the gov. to highly scrutinize "concurrent" private clinics, the slightiest "incident" is good material to build a case to close them. However, the public cummunist system is never ever bottered, no control at all.

I have a cancer patient here, it's been 5 month since last appointment with oncologist, it is the fifth time the appointment is beind push back. Have you ever heard the french saying: "Se faire niaiser"? Ah and they don't ever pay for a PET scan...

The problem is most canadians are simple peoples with low to moderate incomes, and since we do not print money out of our bottom like in the USA... Basically, yes you can have better care going to private system, if you can afford it!!!

My cancer was cured for $32 out of pocket. I think I'll go with the imperfect system.

I'm quite happy you had the privilege of being on the winner side of our nice CCCP medical system, rejoice, not everyone is in the same case as you.

I am by no means in the minority, and I have yet met a Canadian who wants to trade their system for the American experience.

That depend of how much money that said person have. Basically it's like in the USA, no money, no candies.

I was referring to your being a Canadian Cancer Survivor by proxy making you a member of a minority. The majority of people the messed up Canadian System tries to help are not cured.

The "beauty" of the communist Canadian health system, is that most Canadians are brainwashed to think it is the best medical system in the world !!!
