Are there humans devoid of souls walking this planet?

I was having a conversation with a friend of mine moments ago and he suggested the possibility that within our wordly population there are in fact humans amongst us whom, as the title suggests, are completely devoid of souls.

Certaintly there are people who Through their demeanors and actions give the appearance of possibly not having a soul. I think those are just non imaginative dry people.

I am curious if anybody else has had this thought? Do some people simply have no souls?

Does anybody believe that the souless Human exists?

Please discuss and provide your reasoning for why you think this way.

What is a "soul"? How do I know you or I or anyone else posseses such a thing?

Souls are a spiritual construct. If you believe in souls to begin with.

Now if we're going to debate with the understanding that souls theoretically exist, then yes, some people don't have them.

Your soul is your mind, your unique point of view. Some souls are more "complete" but there is no one walking around without a soul in my opinion. Maybe a vegetable who has no thoughts or sensations could be considered to have no soul (not in a bad way of course) but they're not walking around, they're lying in a bed hooked up to a machine that keeps their body alive.

Just my opinion of course.

Empathy prevents humans from inflicting cruelty on others. Hell, supposedly, is the soul's punishment for having inflicted cruelty on others during life. So, you tell me.

Only if they sold them to the Devil for a bottle of Pappy van Winkle 18 and a box of Monte #2 Cubanos.

But I don't know anyone like that.

If you are going the spiritual route, and I do believe we all have a soul, then I think the soul is what animates. it's your individuality and personality in a way. It's what keeps you from being a catatonic vegetable in a bed.

So technically, no, you can't be soulless and walk around.

However, as we are going spiritual, there would also be the concept of good and evil, and then there is the idea that you can sell your soul or give another power "dibs" on it. Those who do so can't be soulless, but they can basically be walking around with a borrowed piece of real estate animating them. They're little bond servants.

I really don't know.

If having a soul is a guarantee that you'll have empathy, than psychopaths may be people who simply have no souls.

But then we can debate about empathy. What is it? Can it be measured, quantified? Do people who have more empathy have bigger souls?

Are there sizes to souls?

Can you enhance your soul and make it bigger?

So many questions that I have no idea how to even answer.

IMHO......all people have souls.

I'm open to being wrong.

However my gut tells me all humans have souls.

I believe individual souls vary in health and direction a great deal.

I Imagine some living thing out there must lack a soul, l just can't articulate that thought any further at the moment....

Do aliens have souls?

Sure. With the world population approaching 8 billion people, there are bound to be a few born before the souls have a chance to be installed.

According to Boris Mouravieff In the last chapter of his 3 book series called Gnosis, half the humans on earth have no soul. He likens them to the Bible's 'separation of the wheat and chaff'.
