This is great news! I hope that the scientists will be able to recover enough DNA from Santa to resurrect him. Then, they can put him back to work at the North Pole so parents don't need to spend so much time, money, and energy getting presents for their children. I wonder if Rudolph is entombed with him?

Turkish archaeologists believe they may have discovered the ancient tomb of St. Nicholas — better known as Santa Claus. The Daily Sabah reports the grave was recently found beneath the St. Nicholas Church in Turkey's southern province of Antalya, where Mr. Claus was born. "We believe this shrine has not been damaged at all, but it is quite difficult to get to it as there are mosaics on the floor," said the head of Antalya's Monument Authority, Cemil Karabayram, of the discovery. Karabayram added to Turkey's Hurriyet that the excavation is progressing steadily and "we will reach the ground and maybe we will find the untouched body of St. Nicholas."

Prior to taking on the image of a plump, jolly delivery man, Santa Claus was a fourth-century saint who gave aid to the poor. Earlier research led archaeologists to believe the remains of St. Nicholas had been smuggled to the Italian city of Bari, although more recent studies have indicated the body preserved there, in the St. Nicholas Basilica, belongs more likely to a local priest. St. Nick, then, could still be discovered in Antalya.

Did they have to dig a HO-HO-HOle to find the tomb?

Sorry

I'll show myself out.

His contribution to Christmas (allegedly) was throwing golden balls down the chimneys of deserving maidens, who could not get married without proper dowries.
If he is restored to life, he will probably confine himself to making rich people give things to poor people. Especially poor but virtuous maidens.

So now atheists have one less toy to play with.
Using Santa Claus to draw parallels with Gods absense.
I knewe it would come back to bite you on the ass.
You should be ashamed of yourselves!

Saint Nicholas was a real dude indeed, just about everyone knows that.

And he was one hell of an example of why most of today's Christians are Christians in title only, rather than practice. As a straight-up human, and assuming the legends of his generosity are indeed true, he was a high bar example of the religious charity and pious consideration to others, that people today rail against by calling it "socialism" (kind of like Jesus & his hippie socialist attitude)

It's pretty amazing how the religious like to try to rub their figures in atheists' faces, but end up being reminded they're just hypocrites being outdone in the charity & altruism department by those godless heathens, St Nick or no Saint Nick. We just happen to like the guy's resolve & spirit, the religious part doesn't matter too much.
