Some dumbass bored kid spray paints a statue? Kill him. What about maybe changing some lettering on their schools sign as prank? You know what fixes that right? A bullet to the head.

How about caning? Works well in Singapore...hehe

This story is complete BS and needs to go in the HOAX bin

I live in Texas. The only time deadly force is justified is when your life is in danger or you are defending your property that is portable. In other words, if someone is trying to steal your car, you can justifiably shoot them. If someone is vandalizing a statue it is not justifiable to shoot them.

This kind of crap should be tossed immediately into the HOAX bin.... ATS is slacking.

Could also be dangerous if someone falls for it and does shoot someone dead.
Good to know btw I'm thankful Texas isn't bat # crazy.

Well in Texas you can.

You do know there is a big difference between someone trespassing and someone breaking into your home.

The officer on the phone even said, "property is not worth killing somebody".

The Missouri senator? She shouldn't have said that and has apologized. That's enough by today's standards isn't it? Personally, I think she should step down for that.

Are there other examples?

Why are there shifting goal posts here? This is hardly the only example of authoritarianism from the Right. Many of the same posters think you should be legally allowed to run over protesters.

Excellent!
I also don't care about the hurt feelings of Liberals.
I didn't know they had any feelings.

Any time I hear about the "hurt feelings" of Liberals I simply think, "for once common sense has come to the fore front"..

RA

what hurt feelings?......another one of those made up BS phrases that the right-wingers love to slobber over

In this case they were breaking into his neighbors house. My point was that in Texas you can shoot to kill while not being in fear of your life. I agree that defacing a statue is not an act that would allow anyone to legally shoot someone over, but it is interesting that in Texas you can kill while not actually being in fear of your own life.

That's the moral high ground?

Even if it is "legal"...I dont see the problem. Simply dont destroy public property...and you're good. No harm will come to you.

I don't see a problem with a person getting shot dead if they are vandalising public property. I doubt it's legal in Texas though! Still, banning shariah law, as it says Texas has done officially in the article and making the threat of citizen action against vandals are good steps to take. It's gone so far that spoiled little child like brats (liberals) think they can just do anything they want. To solve that a quick snap back to reality is required.

calling for shooting liberals.....I was wondering how long into Trump's presidency it would take.....almost 8 months....good job on holding back for that long a time, UKTruth

It wasn't an officer, it was a 911 dispatcher. My point was he was told not to do it and was not in harms way, but decided to go out and shoot them both dead and didn't go to jail over it.

Reading down thread, it looks like this is more of a hoax than anything.

The idea of sentencing someone to death for taking down a statue seems a bit off to me. Condoning deadly force for something like that is akin to allowing the citizenry to dispense the ultimate punishment. It's like using deadly force on a jaywalker because he made you slow down so he could cross the street.

Glad you're all frothing at the mouth of the idea of murdering people over statues erected by completely white local and state governments in public spaces at a time when these same politicians were trying to preserve segregation and oppressive laws to keep subjugated, former slaves and their descendants.

And who is it frothing at the mouths at the idea at murdering natzees ?

They are your fellow American citizens.

I don't support ANYONE justifying the use of deadly force against their neighbor.

Simply because they think something different.

Not in the United States of America.

This is supposedly a first world country.

Not some third world country in the middle east or central america.

There are no nazi's looking to bomb chip shops and kill us, so it's unlikely one would show up 'round these parts'. I think you're pretty safe from that threat.
