Goes without saying all my opinions are just

How great would it be, if people who advocated for free speech (especially in these times) fought for her to stay?

Yeah, she'll carry that stigma for the rest of her life, but the right to speak freely is a cornerstone in a free society.

Free space doesn't give you the right to threaten or wish harm on others. There are laws to prevent that. As far as the secret service would be concerned this is a call to action and considered against the law.

Now I don't believe she actually meant it to be honest. She made a political mistake it looks like she will not recover from. But at least in the future maybe she won't let her anger destroy her. I honestly wish her the best as I see it everyone makes mistakes. Unfortunately in life you often have to pay for mistakes one way or another. She should probably consider herself lucky that this happenew instead of jail time.

Maybe there's an opening for a "hate specialist" on Maxine Waters' presidential exploratory committee.

Some would argue otherwise.

As has been said, there's free speech, then there's too free. This was the latter. Consequences.

CONCLUSION: The Missouri Senator didn't take the Secret Service seriously. OUCH, learned the hard way. HENCE:

www.ky3.com...

A cautionary tale.

Aww, liberals need a crash course in law.

This is an elected government official saying she wished President Trump would get assassinated.

Some would probably said she just issued an order to one of her goons to make it happen. She needs to be investigated bigly...or big league.

Yes, isn't it funny how only Trump and Republicans can 'dog whistle', but when a Democrat is involved, it's ... no. no, this is what he/she actually said..

Personally, I think the alt-left should just own their words and actions now - they do want the POTUS dead and would be happy to see it.

No argument from me on that.

I personally believe in Free Speech 100%.

Hell, I don't even complain to staff here when somebody says something negative.

In this Senator's case, she was free to say what she said and free to "wish" for her own "hopes".

But the Senator will now probably suffer in her own private "Hell, Hope and Chains" now.

I actually like it when people smear themselves like she has.

Brings out the "Best" of the exposures and makes great coffee clutch talk and fantastic gossip !!

Normally I would agree with you, but just like I cannot say highly inflammatory statements while in uniform I feel someone sitting in public office has a higher standard to meet, and when they fail to meet it there should be consequences.

It was a she and she didn't make a threat. She said she wished he get assassinated already or something. Would it be rude of me to say that you and a dozen others aren't familiar with what you're commenting about?

Irony, it's what's for breakfast.

She needs to be removed, and she ought to be arrested, and jailed, for her promotion of violence against a siting president. It's a CRIME, after all. She's not the only one that needs jailed, either. I could name some celebrities who are in the same boat!

Want to see how dysfunctional this country is?

Allies of the state senator in Missouri fighting to keep her seat after saying she hopes President Trump is assassinated set up a website and encouraged people to donate money to the embattled Democrat.

Why haven't charges been brought against this evil bich? Is it because she's BLACK? So what! She broke the law.

Oh, lordy!! Really? Donate money to this P.O.S. to support her hate and her wish to have President Trump assassinated! What are they doing? Trying to hire the goon to do it?

And just like the "Go Fund Me" page Valerie Plame set up to get money to buy Twitter so she could kick Mr. Trump off the sight, these people pander to the STUPID hate-filled left and the poor dupes reach into their pockets and send these people money. You just can't fix "stupid".

In all fairness, though, no one is actually stopping her from speaking her mind. She could say it again a hundred times if she wanted; her FB hasnt been shut down or anything, right? What happened is that she exercised her right to free speech in a very obnoxious way and now she's suffering the consequences.

To be clear, I do NOT think her comment rose to the level of a threat and I do NOT think she should be prosecuted. However, I do think she engaged in conduct that is completely unacceptable for a senator, and now she's facing the consequences. If one of us told the whole office, or factory floor, or whatever where we work, "I hope somebody shoots Mr. X (the boss) in the head and kills him tonight," and we did it publicly where the whole office/floor could hear, Mr. X would undoubtedly fire us. Did we have the right to say it? Sure. But Mr. X would also be well within his rights to fire us.

That's what's happening here. Nobody is restricting her actual speach, just responding to it...and in a perfectly legal way. Nowhere does it say that free speech must be free of consequences.

So now it's acceptable to expect consequences from anyone if you offer an opinion.

Sounds not very free to me if anyone can punish you if you say something wrong.
