The South Koreans don't want the THAAD System and the Chinese are uneasy with its presence. When the actual threat to the South is artillery, what's even the point of it?

Obviously the LIB leaning SK'ers think they know it all, and believe the north will sing kumbaya around campfire if we just all sit there and sing songs together. Let SK find out the hard way, WITHOUT U.S support so that SK would be nothing but a heaping pile of rubble. Great plan!

SK has no official leadership till elections happen this month. All indications show however, that SK will be under far leftist rule in the near future. Proof they would only play ball if Trump says things like "smart cookie" and panders to the sanction card that has been played for over 20 years now and done absolutely squat.

It's a hippy pipe dream. Whatever the case, I would be FINE with getting U.S. troops out of SK and removing THAAD etc. But it would NOT be fine for the ignorant lefty South Koreans. Kim would invade them at the drop of a hat if given the opportunity.

Maybe that will happen someday, and then they can wonder why their Utopian dreams are all BS and by then it would be too late.

Perhaps the South Koreans have a greater grasp of the situation they're in then we do? The only information that we really get from the North is from the 'liberal" media - the same media that's been pushing corporate Neoconservative foreign policy for decades now.

How can you be sure that what's happening on the Korean Peninsula is being accurately presented to us when you don't trust the media to begin with?

You have a point! But what would be better? This situation with, or without U.S. support? THAAD would at least help reduce the amount of damage done, and 28k U.S. troops in the region would also help immensely regarding a complete NK take-over of Seoul/SK. That's not even mentioning other classified U.S. assets, let alone air and naval support already in the region.

But some, would rather the U.S. leave entirely. FINE. Let's do THAT and see what happens. That's just pure ignorance on the scale of millions of lives being lost over nothing but Utopian pipe dreams.

The acting President/former Prime Minister Hwang Kyo-ahn is exactly the king of guy the Pentagon and White House need. If only for these pesky Korean elections coming up on May 9, we could get some non-nuclear armed conflict going ASAP. This whole thing from the start has been a confusing mess. It's hard to know WHAT to believe. I've said it over and over. Regardless of whether or not NK can strike the U.S. much less Japan is debatable.

ALL sides agree that SK is in danger, however. All sides agree that NK has continued threatening the U.S. and Sk/Japan with nukes, over and over. This has gone on for the duration of the 21st century.

All sides agree that it's not clear the true capabilities of NK, only that they are TRYING their damnedest to get ICBMS capable of reaching the U.S. and WILL use them once capable. Multiple accounts of NK defectors have confirmed this.

Diplomacy has been tried. Sanctions have been tried. NK refuses to budge on this.

A coup has been foretold for many years, yet has failed to happen. Kimmy killing his relatives is likely a big reason why.

Most people would have NO problems with a sovereign nation having nukes as a deterrence, if they didn't threaten and PROMISE to use them in first strike scenarios day in, day out, for over a DECADE now.

NK has shelled SK islands in the recent past. Blown up SK boats, kidnapped people from the U.S. and abroad for over a DECADE.

NK continues to test ICBMS and NUKES, while threatening to use them, creating propaganda videos SHOWING their desire to use said nukes on the U.S. over and over. (See DPRK youtube videos)

I totally dig Ron Paul, and I subscribe to his philosophy of "get the job done and get out". That's what needs to be done in NK. I do not subscribe to intervention in most other cases, but this one. THIS one, could be a REALLY big problem if nothing is done about it. I'm talking 5-10 years down the road when NK could actually have the capacity to nuke mainland U.S. cities.

People need to start using more common sense. Something has to be done. Quickly.
