Middle Earth, the time before humans. Tolkien maybe found some manuscripts and kept them hidden. Fiction sells better than non fiction.

If we were the giants, and the hobbits were the regular folks, in the scenario, were we not all killed.

Also, there seems to be pretty accurate height descriptions, sadly or thankfully we are not even close.

No not all killed if we want to adventure into this territory. The story's told imply some lived.

www.dailymail.co.uk... old-fossil-early-human.html" target="_blank" class="postlink">baboon bone in Lucy skeleton

The story doesn't use the word "confirm" like the title does. I have to say, I took a number of archeology classes in university because I found the study interesting. But when you get down to it, these archaeologists are often filling in 97% of the blanks based on a 1/4 piece of a left mandible, and part of a femur bone, maybe a tooth.

I'm not too quick to buy into new archaeological "determinations".

One bad bone doesn't spoil the whole bunch, as it states on your Daily Mail link about Lucy.

When all you have to work with is a mandible, what else can you expect except attempts to fill in the blanks?
But that's not the case with Lucy - one of the most complete hominid skeletons ever found and THE most complete skeleton ever found from that era.
