White House says it won't make visitor logs public

President Donald Trump’s week of reversals continued Friday, as his administration bucked recent precedent to announce that the White House won’t release records of its visitors.

The decision not to voluntarily disclose White House visitor logs is a break from the policy of former President Barack Obama’s administration, and it raised new concerns from transparency advocates.

The switch from Trump, who had called his predecessor the "least transparent president," also capped a week of policy shifts and flip-flops. The president this week backed off his pledge to label China a currency manipulator and declared NATO was no longer “obsolete.”

“It’s disappointing that the man who promised to ‘drain the swamp’ just took a massive step away from transparency by refusing the release the White House visitor logs...that provide indispensable information about who is seeking to influence the president,” Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington executive director Noah Bookbinder said in a statement.

You have the best military in the world, so, so great, doing a great job, the best in the world.

So when are we going to figure out as a populace that once a candidate becomes president they metamorphosis into an entirely different creature then when they were on the campaign trail promising the moon?

Conservatives would have lost their collective minds if Obama did this because they thrived on picking apart the WH Visitor Log as much as they could spinning wacky conspiracies from them but since Trump is hiding this from the public I'm sure they'll support him 100% because partisan hackiness.

I was being sarcastic, of course he is bound to be transparent by the constitution isn't he? It's public office, being funded by the tax payers. You have every right to know what he is doing and who he is meeting with at all times.

He excluded personal family visitors and sensitive/classified security personnel whose identity was restricted. Apart from that he provided a log of everyone visiting the WH.

That said Trump and his supporters lamented those restrictions..

You support Trump refusing to provide a log of visitors like Pres. Obama did?
