Part of I-85 collapses in Atlanta after massive fire

I'm worried about people breathing that smoke in. Not to mention having a storm come threw then coating everything in what ever is in the smoke.

Locals haven't heard anything about terror attacks. And the spools of cable is from the OP's own link. Sister inlaw lives 30 min from there so if they heard anything about terror attack we'd have heard about it already.

Totally agree on that point.

Weather is a huge factor now in the metro but not directly over the site anymore however more moving in from the west. Trees down in metro area. Hail possible.

No. Born and live here. It's the opposite side of downtown Atlanta. Not even close. North of downtown Atlanta.

85 is the feeder into and out of the city to Gwinnett County though (lots and lots of commuters). There's no way that Buford Highway can handle modern traffic levels. Apparently it's gridlock all the way around the side streets, the alternate routes and now the Perimeter (I-285).

Wow, this is a nightmare.

If you wanted to do a terrorist attack to incapacitate Atlanta, this is not a bad target (nods to OP.)

Holy crap WSB reporting that a train barreled through on the tracks right adjacent to the fire at the height of the flames.

GA department of Public Health claims smoke not toxic. Of course they do...

Dekalb schools closed. Some state and local offices opening at 10. Call to verify opening.

That's at one end of the MARTA line, but ... didn't it look like the bridge would have fallen across multiple tracks?
