Sad Music That Makes You Happy

The Science Of Things by Bush inspired this thread. Every song is about the horror of life, but somehow it's my ultimate "happy album." The album represents transcendence to me. It's about looking at life realistically and seeing just how bad it is yet not letting it pull you down. That's why the album makes me happy. It's instant transcendence for me.

"Red" by Taylor Swift definitely deserves a mention. I've probably listened to it a hundred times, and I'm still not sure if it's a happy song or a sad song. I find it to be sad, but it makes me happy. It's about finding the happiness in sadness to me.

I completely agree. I think that's a forgotten classic.

Here's a song that makes me feel happy when I'm sad and sad when I'm happy. It's kind of a complete roller coaster, but it finishes on an up note for me.
