FBI's Comey says no evidence of Trump wiretap claim, confirms probe

That is NOT what Comey said.

"With respect to the president's tweets about alleged wiretapping directed at him by the prior administration, I have no information that supports those tweets and we have looked carefully inside the FBI," Comey testified. "The Department of Justice has asked me to share with you that the answer is the same for the Department of Justice and all its components. The department has no information that supports those tweets."

He said he has no evidence to support it and that the DoJ asked him to state that the rest of the DoJ has no information to support it. So yes, it was lawyer speak but absolutely not how you're trying to portray it.

My initial statement was that for me to admit he is wrong I would need proof he is wrong. As someone who prefers science over politics, I need proof to admit something. That is my personal feeling on the situation, it was not an argument.

You then tried to turn it into an argument and say I was advocating Trump's statement, which is why I just brushed your comments aside. They had nothing to do with what I initially said and were based on assumptions you had made.

Anyway, I think we've derailed this thread for long enough so I'll leave it at that.

If you are a person of science then you should be defaulting to the null hypothesis in regards to this conversation. The null hypothesis in this case would be that Trump is lying.

So Comey says "and we have looked carefully inside the FBI"

and

"The Department of Justice has asked me to share with you that the answer is the same for the Department of Justice and all its components. The department has no information that supports those tweets."

Which means the FBI isn't telling anything about looking into other agencies.

Trump is digging a grave for himself now, the time for the blarney is over, and the mini-row today between Munes and Schiff over the Republican stance shift in July last year, left Schiff telling the FBI in no uncertain terms that it did happen and that there were witnesses, and if they are not investigating that they'd better do so.(previously Comey made a ' no comment' on that when asked about it by Rick Crawford)..Upshot of that will be to find out who Trump's men made the 'phone calls to at that meeting, the calls shouldn't be hard to trace, if to Russia or New York, whatever, either way, Trump is in something of a dog's doo doo, since he says he didn't know anything about it, but would look into it, but not a murmur since.

Question when has anything worked out for the dems in regards to trump? Even though just yesterday I saw members say that what 'Comey had would put Obama away' and that 'Obama was likely in French Polynesia due to a complicated extradition treaty with France'.

What we find is that:
1) Obama has not 'wiretapped' Trump.
2) Obama is on vacation.
3) Trump and associates are probably under investigation. Wait, they are and have been under investigation since July.
