HA! Actually, I've been toggling back and forth between reading other contest stories and needling you. If I wanted to bump my thread I'd just bump the dang thread. This is much more fun.

Ahh...hahahaha....I'm doing the same thing!

Needling, eh?
Good word, haven't heard it in a while.
You must have pontificated to get just the right term, hehe...

It was quite the conundrum. Needling or noodling, pins or pasta, you know how it goes when we pontificate.

Do you think anybody is lurking and thinking that "pontificate" and "conundrum" are code words?
I don't wanna end up as a Reddit thread, lol.

Seriously, nothing to see here folks!
Just a couple of word nerds.

Ignore Jacy, all you lurkers. It's totally a conspiracy! Pontificategate!

Word nerd. HEY!! I resemble that remark!

"I resemble that remark"...?
I can't believe you wrote that...rofl...I almost wrote that a couple of replies ago, while we were discussing the dollar store!
"Pontificategate"...? Pure brilliance. *shifty eyes*....sssh!!

I feel sorry for the next person to read your story, lol. They are going to think we were drunk.

Right? I have to wonder if we've sort of blown up the mood of the original posts!

Oh well, this is fun.

But if they take the time to read every response (like that's going to happen)...it could work in your favour.

They might think, "Hey this member is great! Even has a fan club (or at the very least, a stalker).
Plus, now they know about the 'other stuff' you write, haha....
You might wake up to a full inbox.

And I will be smiling...in my cheap sunglasses.

All true, of course.

They might also think, "No way this drunk pontificating idiot actually wrote that story!"

*shrug*
What's a poor Shepherd to do?

Actually I believe many of the great classics were written by drunk pontificating idiots!

Shep, wonderfully written! Too often people don't realize just how much of an impact they have on other people's lives just by doing the simplest of things. Eli thought he didn't accomplish much in his life, but indeed he did. He affected other lives deeply without even realizing it. Very important for people to realize that it is often the smallest of things that matter most.

Exactly, Night Star. One of the things I was trying to get across that you don't have to be a superhero to make a difference in someone else's life. Sometimes, a profound difference. The other factor is that Eli is only 15. Sometimes I think kids are sort of waiting to grow up so they can start making a difference. They might be surprised what difference they can make in someone's life just by being who they are.

People can go their entire lives not realizing how much of an impact they have on other lives. I loved the message in this story! I am always trying to remind people of that message. Well done!!!
