Annie Lenox Yes!! She has a background in opera singing did you know?

As for my favorite female artist at the moment, that would be Sia, hands down.

Thank you! You know too? She's like a 6ft tall Nordic beauty as well...she is awesomely great, and has been singing like that since she was a teen.

Thanks again....MS

Any list like this needs to include Lisa Gerrard from Dead Can Dance. She also played a key part on many Hans ZImmer based movie scores such as Black Hawk Down , Gladiator and others...

Lots of really good female singers . This one is my neighbor . She can really rock too .Her blues is phenomenal ...Oh yea she can do the opera thing too :>)

She has awesome control of her voice. Do you know what she is performing?

Thanks for sharing.

One of my favourite voices, I don't think she is necessarily the greatest, but her voice was perfectly tuned always and her control was immaculate...this album is one of my most played (I'm a Cole Porter fan too), I never get tired of it.

I really like Sia too, she has real artistry and a beautiful, distinct voice (in both senses of the word).

Here is another one.

The 80's and 70's for that matter is filled with amazingly sung and talented female artists, I can never skip this song...
