The head of the CIA just warned the President of the United States.

Michael Flynn Is Harsh Judge of C.I.A.’s Role.

Divided Media on Michael Flynn: Patriotic Leaks or Political Espionage.

Trump, GOP lawmakers eye 'illegal' leaks in wake of Flynn resignation.

Lets take a step back and look at whats really happening here.

1. Trump compares the CIA to the Nazis and says they screwed up when they claimed that Iraq had WMDs.

2. Flynn says that the CIA has become a political organization.

3. The CIA director in essence tells Trump to shut his mouth.

4. Trump on his 2nd day in office, makes a speech at CIA headquarters, possibly out of fear (thread on the topic was moved/deleted).

5. The CIA releases confidential information to the media (which is a felony) in order to silence one of their critics.

6. There is no doubt that all of our communications are being recorded and possibly monitored.

Who's controlling who?

Who's really in charge?

Regardless of Flynn's mishap, the intelligence agencies are setting a precedent by intentionally leaking information from their own cache of intercepted data. The CIA is notorious for dealing with political adversaries in this manner, just not so open and intentional. Most on ATS should know this. This must be Trump's first real warning not to mess with the intelligence community.

The Leakers Who Exposed Gen. Flynn’s Lie Committed Serious — and Wholly Justified — Felonies

In the spectrum of crimes involving the leaking of classified information, publicly revealing the contents of SIGINT — signals intelligence — is one of the most serious felonies. Journalists (and all other nongovernmental citizens) can be prosecuted under federal law for disclosing classified information only under the narrowest circumstances; reflecting how serious SIGINT is considered to be, one of those circumstances includes leaking the contents of intercepted communications, as defined this way by 18 § 798 of the U.S. Code:

Whoever knowingly and willfully communicates … or otherwise makes available to an unauthorized person, or publishes … any classified information … obtained by the processes of communication intelligence from the communications of any foreign government … shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both.

That Flynn lied about what he said to Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak was first revealed by Washington Post columnist David Ignatius, who has built his career on repeating what his CIA sources tell him. In his January 12 column, Ignatius wrote: “According to a senior U.S. government official, Flynn phoned Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak several times on Dec. 29, the day the Obama administration announced the expulsion of 35 Russian officials as well as other measures in retaliation for the hacking.”

I give you a third option.

A political hatchet job for revenge of losing the election.

That is what's going on.

Payback.

And further proof that when it comes to the people of this country. This nations national security interest's.

Honor and integrity.

A single political party comes before everything.

That's right people the party of the donkey sure lives up to it's other name.

whit the $hill leaks we were all enthralled, dont shoot the messenger, look at the contents.

now with this, possibly one of the most important position in our government discusses sanctions and possibly 'other' with a foreign government...

lets crucify the leakers... no one is glad this was leaked, who knows what the Russians have to be able to use as leverage. possibly much more, as they are testing missiles and violating agreements a la North Korea.

the left is so hypocritical.. sure. what other organizations and their constituents arent hypocrites...

More like shot themselves in the foot.

Traditional norms and established ideals are breaking down. In an era of underdog winnings and unexpected outcomes, the intelligence community THINKS this is another show, it isnt and I suspect they somthing within will give as a result.

You don't get to go twice, for whatever it was they did, opposition will be met. Its all a matter of causality.

It's worth noting date January 12th, meaning leaks were part of Obama administration.

I have heard that release of info involving an American has to get clearance from higher echelon.

Agreed. I just hope partisanship is put aside when people try to make sense of it. It's messy and not necessarily what it appears to be on the surface.

Let me see if I've got this right...

The CIA is made up of people who support both camps, the Democrats and Republicans.

If the above is true, then technically that would mean an internal CIA war of ideologies on a daily basis.

If that is the case, then surely the CIA isn't fit for purpose.

The plot thickens?

Looks like the CIA is a very, very deep swamp, to drain this filth Trump will have to pump the bejesus out of it.

The really weird part is Trump being more cosy with Russian Intelligence than with the CIA which presumably is US Intelligence. Go figure.

Something's not right.

Or maybe that means the CIA is full of people who support Americans from each side, as opposed to being full of people who support Russia?

Exactly. This is like a sitting President distancing himself/herself from our own intelligence community in favor of North Korea's intelligence community. Who wouldn't see something wrong with that picture?
