Good Lord, seriously? For one, it's different, and while I love Basmati rice, I only discovered it a few years ago.

I'm not Asian, but I would imagine if a type of rice is ingrained (heh) in your culture, ie Jasmine, you would be less likely than I would be to discover Basmati.

The point about rice I am trying to make is that even if you were mega wealthy, your choice in best rice is still affordable to low class in western country

You would think even a white Christian would understand that there are a great man varieties of rice used by a great many different cultures, and that they are different than the type of rice this white Christian knows about. I would guess there are hundreds, but my own grocery store sells about twenty different varieties. Just because YOU "like" one variety doesnt mean the others are "no good."
