U.N. Agency Publishes Secret Iran Deal Docs On Exemptions Obama Admin Dismissed

Iran was given secret exemptions allowing the country to exceed restrictions set out by the landmark nuclear deal inked last year, some of which were made public this week by the United Nations nuclear watchdog and others that are likely still being withheld, according to diplomatic sources and a top nuclear expert who spoke to THE WEEKLY STANDARD.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on Friday posted documents revealing that Iran had been given exemptions in January that permit the country to stockpile uranium in excess of the 300 kilogram limit set by the nuclear deal, experts said. The agreements had been kept secret for almost a year, but recent reports indicated that the Trump administration intended to make them public.

Secret exemptions.

That would indicate that the deal as presented to the public did not exist.
The secret deal would be what was real.

Good old transparent Obama.

Kind of early to start the anti Iran train , isn't it. Assad is supposed to go, first. They're a little behind schedule.

It seems real, but even from their own source, a bit alarmist.

Institute for Science and International Security

I don't know much about this ISIS (their twitter is TheGoodISIS lol). Their evaluation seems reasonable. However they differ on the widely accepted opinion that much of the overage can't be recovered. They also seem to think Iran could 'quickly make a weapon' in future if they felt under pressure or threat, but no weapon can quickly be made from this amount of LEU, even of a little bit over 300kg.

MOst of the exemptions were to bring Iran into compliance on the day of implementation.

Iran doesn't have a facility to recover anything for use in a nuclear weapon.

Your post and it's source says the IAEA released documents on Friday.

I took the time to look all over the website for the IAEA They also have en entire section on Iran

There are no such documents posted there.

I even looked at their Twitter

Nothing there. Maybe this is fake news.

I was looking for that, as another website noted the UN sent the IAEA documents of clarification, but I couldn;t find them and there was no link

It does appear they are in compliance and under detailed surveillance.

It's like being forced to choose between a terrorist sympathizer or world dominating war hawks.

As much as I'd like peace, I'd rather not just hand over our country willingly.

How much uranium is needed for a nuclear bomb? As little as 35 pounds of uranium-235 or nine pounds of plutonium-239 is required to make a working nuclear bomb.

Source

I doubt they even know how much Iran has. The relationship between Iran and N. Korea should alert anyone that they may have nuclear weapons already. N. Korea has sold material for use in bomb cores to Iran in the past.

The pdf in the 2nd link may be the one the articles refer to. Like Reldra, I'd also failed to find it on the IAEA's Iran section when I first saw an article about this. I've gotten to a point where I won't believe this stuff until I verify it from the source. I'll skim over it later just to double check.

Thanks for the link though.

My biggest concern with this is how frequently the heavy water is changed. My understanding is a short 3 month cycle would facilitate the production of Pu-239, used to make weapons grade plutonium -- providing someone had access to a processing facility.

Something I found a little odd is this deleted article from late-November on the Houston Chronicle website, still available in google cache. Why was this story suppressed in November removed around December 8th?
