Well, today President Dick just told America the 4 year plan. Invade Iran, then Syria, then Jordan. Hell, this time they aren't even lieing or making excuses, they are just going to invade to bring "democracy" to the region. OMG! I can't believe they are so blunt with this, they aren't even doing it because of WMDs, or terrorism, but to supposedly bring "democracy". Time to move to canada if you between 18-24 and male.

I can't believe it still, he didn't try to make up excuses, just said flat out we are invading them one after the other.

Do you have the article? Just blowing smoke. If they can't defeat a defeated nation, how are they going to win against a country that waits for them?

Would be fun to watch though. I have no sons or daughters to sacrifice in this venture.

Er, support for this? Where did cheney say this? Where did you hear it? I just want to see it for myself. I've been expecting an iran war for a while now.

If all this sabre rattling is true, then can someone tell me just why Halliburton is in Iran ?

I just got back from the Gulf states and actually saw for my own eyes visa and travel arrangements being made for Halliburton crew into Iran.

I did wonder myself how a US corporation, especially Halliburton, was able to contract with Iran for oil field work. As I understand things, there are still embargoes and trade restictions in place.
There again, it's not all that surprising with the likes of Cheney walking the White House. If there's no war, they carry on. If there is a war then Halliburton will claim huge reparations for lost business. Iraq is still paying these reparations to US corporations for lost business from the 1st Gulf War.

Small note : Conventional thinking in the Gulf is that Iran will become a problem between the US and Europe and this time, Europe will not stand idly by.

He probably also has another plan being formulated on exploration and exports.

He just can't talk about it right now though.

The Daily Show, and antiwar site, larouches site, and al jazeera. But not CNN or Fox or CBS?

www.dailytrojan.com...

There is no mention of Cheney at all in this article, its a speculative editorial

www.buzzflash.com...

Nothing at all resembling the original claim is in this article.

www.antiwar.com...

Ditto

www.larouchepub.com...

LaRouche is pretty out there, a very cursory look reveals much of the above here, iow, no support.
I see no reason to check these other sources. Cheney did not " America the 4 year plan. Invade Iran, then Syria, then Jordan".

Doesn't even make sense, Saudi Arabia would be attacked before the cooperative kingdom of Jordan.

and this time, Europe will not stand idly by.

I seriously doubt europe would do anything remotely approaching affective here.

And how exactly is the UN General Assembly Supposed to stop a war?

If this were true it would be HUGE news! Why are only shady websites and parody websites reporting this? Please! The most reputable source is the DAILY SHOW of comedy central fame!?! If it were real, don't you think that the major news sources would be reporting it? Where's CNN? CBS? (I'm sure Dan Rather could use a real news story) REUTERS? AP? Even if the US did have this plan, why would we announce it to the world and give warning to the ones we wanted to attack. It just doesn't make any sense. Futhermore, if I were to suspend disbelief on the above points, Why would this be announced by Dick Cheny? Wouldn't the Commander In Chief be the one to say it? Absolutely Ridiculous.

They aren't actually reporting it either. The sites above are mostly opinion peices where the author 'reads between the lines'. No one is reporting that Cheney openly declared this progression.

Washington Post isn't a reliable source? Or New Yor Post, something like that, reporting, as some of those sites did, that the pentagon has already sent in troops to mark places to strike from the air? They had a reporter guy from New York Post on Daily Show talking about it, and then SHOWED THE FOOTAGE of cheney doing a press conference where he tells of the planes to invade said countries. Sure Daily Show is on CC, but the footage wasn't from CC, it was actual footage. Gee, FoxNews isn't reporting bad news about their gods? No freaking duh! Like FoxNews reporting on Bush's coke habit, not gonna happen.

Journalist Seymour Hersh pulitzer prize winner, first guy to release information the Abu Gharib prison scandal. www.newyorker.com.../050124fa_fact

www.socialistworker.co.uk...

Also, why no media coverage on this?
www.sltrib.com...
"But what was really revealing was the U.S. media response to it.
There seems to be hardly anyone in the mainstream U.S. media who is willing to question the assumption that Iranian nuclear weapons would be, say, 10 times more dangerous than Chinese nuclear weapons. Yet China is a totalitarian Communist dictatorship while Iran is a partially democratic country struggling, so far unsuccessfully, to rid itself of the clique of deeply conservative mullahs who have dominated defense and foreign policy (together with much else) since 1979. Why is Iran seen as such a threat?"

Fine, here is something from CNN, sure 50 different websites reporting the same thing don't matter, so here is a big news channel. edition.cnn.com...
www.onpointradio.org...
www.onpointradio.org...

I know, 50 sites don't mean nothing, they all reporting the same thing, but that doesn't mean much. But I guess Pulitzer Award Winning journalist for EXPOSING the Abu Gharib prison scandal couldn't possibly know something the government is trying to hide from us, again.

you have anyhting with a direct quote by Cheeny supporting attacks on Iran, syria or Jordan?

Most people do belive that is the logical course the waythe current administation is running things, but there is not proof that they are actaully going to offically do anyhting

James, save yourself the trouble. Some wont beleive anything at all. Sometimes i wonder what it will take?

Bush and Cheney, breaking news, both dressed in black and red robes, pitchfork in hand, saying they are messengers of Lucifer? Maybe that would do it

I agree with you Jehosephat, It's not that I think an invasion is out of the question. It's just that all of these "news" articles IMPLY that we are going to attack them. None of them give any direct support for the idea that it's already been decided. And by the way, the military plans ahead for all kinds of unlikely threats and invasions. It doesn't mean that they intend on carrying them out. They are called "training exercises" and "strategic planning". And why would the foreign press not say anything. I'm sure the Europeans would be all over this if Cheny actually Laid out a 4 year plan to attack 3 soverign nations! Sheesh!

JTL, none of the links you provided seemed to quote Cheney, or even paraphrase him, as having said this. I think that its pretty obvious that there are designs on iran and possibly syria, and a person can certainly make a good case for it all, but saying that the administration cleary plans on doing these things, and actually stated that it was going to do these things, are rather different.

James, save yourself the trouble. Some wont beleive anything at all. Sometimes i wonder what it will take?

I don't think it unreasonable to request the actual reference where dick cheney is quoted, or even noted, as having "told America the 4 year plan. Invade Iran, then Syria, then Jordan". I agree, one can 'read between the lines' and figure thta there is truth in some of this, but where was it actually said?

spike
None of them give any direct support for the idea that it's already been decided.

One could say that if they can reasonably state that there is going to be an invasion, then that its reasonably been planned out and decided upon. Thats not strictly whats at issue. The original statement was that cheney actually came out and said something like 'yes, we are going to invade iran, then syria, and then even jordan'.

Nygdan, true, I am having trouble finding any links to what cheney said, I even checked out the CC website hoping they would have the video link that was showed on Daily Show... But still, I think Journalist Seymour Hersh, pulitzer prize winner, first guy to release information about the Abu Gharib prison scandal, may have sources others don't. When he was the FIRST person to report on the Abu Gharib scandal, was it on CNN, Fox News, ar MSNBC automatically? No, it took them a few days to pick it up.

Ok, Journalist Seymour Hersh, pulitzer prize winner, first guy to release information about the Abu Gharib prison scandal, reports about US troops in Iran marking places to bomb. If it was say..... Moore, or Dan Rather, then it would be questionable. But this guy has sources that allowed him to be the FIRST guy to tell the US about Abu Gharib. I think he might know what he is talking about.

Damn, spent almost an hour on google looking for even a snippet of the video clip, can't find it, yet. May not be using right words to search for it....(happened before)
