Cal-Exit: Brexit style break at our doorstep?

Isn't California bankrupt and full of illegal immigrants? Not to mention the Satanic Hollywood Babylon freaks. It would a great thing for them to leave, for the rest of the union that is. They're near 3rd world status now, secession would make them totally 3rd world. I notice the bloke starting this movement originates in the 3rd world and one of the world's most miserable places.

Rather than make California like the miserable place he originated from, he should try to enhance California for all people.

No, the south seceeded due to slavery. The California and the rest of the west coast have been wanting to break off with the rest of the U.S. for several decades now, though until now, there hasn't been as much incentive or driving necessity. Well before Trump was even declared the GOP nominee and Hillary had offically scammed Sanders out of the DNC, there was serious talk about splitting from rest of the country, because the writing on the wall was there.

I mean, just the fact you and the rest of the Bible-Beltistan can't seem to grasp this concept just further illustrates the alien and irreconcilable difference between the two countries, and why total secession is really the only sensible road in the future.

Regardless, it really has little to do with you, so I wouldn't worry about it. You'll be to busy drinking cheep beer stupefied by NASCAR while hurricanes and rising sea levels swallow your state and much of eastern sea board, and you'll be too busy blaming Satan and liberals and the evil feminists to really be any threat or concern to us.

One of the things California secessionists do not take into account is that the majority of the inland and rural counties want to secede from the state,that includes the state of Jefferson!

The whiney libs would be confined to a tiny strip along the coast and the 3 major cities.

The State of Jefferson has been proposed since the 40`s,the inland counties have been agitating for separation since the 70`s.
Let California secede I will be happy to live in a new state in these United States.

Incorrect. The Confederacy was formed primarily over two issues: excessive taxation and support of state's rights. The slavery issue was pushed to the forefront by Abraham Lincoln in an attempt to drum up public support for what was at that point in time, a failing and unpopular military action.

Very few Southerners owned slaves, a smaller percentage than people in New England.

It's an irrelevant point to the present discussion, however. 100 years from now, the reasons will be what the victor decided the reasons were.

Shelf_elf --You should look towards Lincoln's Chicago 18** speech during the debates, this speech alone removes any doubts as to Lincoln's racism. Lincoln also didn't think very highly of women either. Look up the speech learn some facts. Then look up the statistics of who owned slaves in 1858-1860. Then ask yourself " were 99% of the non slave owning whites in the 13 confederate states fighting for the rights of the 1% to own slaves?"

I've personally witnessed reactions from several different people over reading Lincolns debate comments, it's always the same reaction, shock, amazement, and just out right curiosity once it dawns on them that they've been taught one thing in school in America yet in Reality its totally different.

Like another posted said earlier in the thread, California leaving the union is like shooting itself in the foot, democrats would never win another presidency, ever.

Now Texas could leave and is the only state that could pull it off but as is again pointed out by several other posters in this thread, the red tape with all that today isn't the same red ribbons from 1860.

It's in my opinion Lincoln's motive was to make tax paying slaves out of all races and gender's.
The sad reality is look around you and the amount of taxes you pay.
For instance owning land, you have a piece of paper with your name on it and a plot number describing the location. That's it. You have to pay the state taxes to own that property every year for benefits like Fire and rescue, etc. So you don't own nothing you basically rent property from the state each year.

Texas is also the only state that was originally a country. Unlike California, Texas could be self-sufficient. Unlike California (and every other state), Texas brought something besides land mass to the US.
