So are we anticipating an EMP event, solar flares, or what? The sheer amount of work that is spread across a wide variety of utilities is including hospitals, communications, nuclear power plants etc. The order states that America is to be ready for a power grid failure within 120 days from Oct. 13. That's a ton of logistical work for a "space weather" event that may or may not happen. My issue here is the deadline. If it were just a precaution to a solar flare, or magnetic disruption from space weather. Then why the scary deadline. Do they no of an impending massive space weather event. Or do they know a foreign country with capabilities to cause the same type of damage

This would be terrible. I would not mind a EMP that took out my cell phone.

Nice find

I have been putting it off. It is time for me to build a faraday box. I do have a small Yamaha generator I would like to survive in case something does happen.

It will take out everything. Unless your off the grid, you'll be able to flush you toilet one more time. No TV, no lights, no gas, no fire department, no cops... you'll be on your own.. then the nuclear powerlants will all go China syndrome and radiation will fill the atmosphere.. God speed.

I have a grounded storage container that I use as a Faraday cage. It contains the computer backup drives for my company linked up with fiber optic cable, and a generator ready for work if needed.

I've always wondered, if Sh*t truly hit the fan for the establishment, would they be sick enough to EMP our own country, taking out communication and just blame it on Russia, knowing no person in this country could verify with zero power... We go to war... Then all is forgotten....

I'm ready for it. Me my moya lyubov' and her Kalashnikova. Vodka will flow comrade. We will hunt squirrel to the bear. The birch will heat us. We'll make whoopee on the bearskin rug. Over and over again. Wolves will howl in the moonlight.

I really doubt we'd EMP our own country. I suspect if there is something more than actual "space weather", this is preparation for what could be a credible EMP threat, or at least the possibility of one.

This sounds like a good time no phones or computers, don't make love to the Babushka.

You edited out the best part.

You have a work bunker?
What is it exactly that you do?

Man if the world went to crap, the last thing i would be concerned about is ensuring my employer keeps the loot rolling in lol.
In fact if that does go down, im jumping in my truck with a motivational "item" and coming to work to stock up. The mine site has enough food for 500 people a for 2 weeks at a time.

I live out in the country. Im On well water, 1000 liter propane tank for heat and out door boiler. The genny is hooked up to a 400 liter gas storage container.
My house that im building up the road from my current house already has the solar panels hooked up on a 24 volt system.
Everyday, theres a buck or a couple does in the yard. Lots of partridge and bears around if things get rough.
Only thing we would be lacking is fresh vegetables over the winter...which could be problematic.

Garden in the spring, summer, fall and then can your veggies. Stock up on vitamins and seeds.

I dont think its an emp however a cyber attack from russia could shutdown the powergrid, streetlights, powerplants could meltdown and a host of awful things that nobody thinks about. Fires running out of control, all ability of communication down.

I bet some of you thought cyber warfare means being mean on twitter and unfriending putin on facebook stealing emails and listing the kind of porn russia likes .ooooooHHH Obama said russians like granny porn lol it is way more serous then people think.
