He has reached an almost 7% lead in the new LA Times poll but what was a bit shocking was the rise in the individual polls that shows support by the black community. Internal polling must really be bad for the DNC as President Obama stated 'He would consider it an insult" if they did not get out and vote.

An insult? This guy is not even running and he is chastising those he wants to get out and vote?

Hope is on the ballot. And fear is on the ballot too. Hope is on the ballot and fear is on the ballot too.

To bad he is using fear to promote hope. Even the NY Post has something to say about it...in a positive light somewhat for Mr Trump.

nypost.com...

Trump saw a 16.5 percentage-point increase in backing from African-American voters in a Los Angeles Times/University of Southern California tracking poll, up from 3.1 percent on Sept. 10 to 19.6 percent through Friday. Meanwhile, the same poll showed Clinton’s support among that group plummeting from 90.4 percent on Sept. 10 to 71.4 percent.

and finally this piece from the LA times.

Lopez wrote that an unnamed Mexican-American Trump volunteer told him that “there are too many illegals here… and they dirty the place up and they take jobs and do things hey shouldn’t.” Lopez noted that once he found out he was with the Times, the man said “the only thing the Times is any good for is to wrap fish in it,” before walking away.

This is why they are playing the 'race card' so heavily and it looks like the country is tiring of it.

Wow, Trump just hit 20% of the black vote. That's 3% more than Romney, who lost miserably to Obama.

Meanwhile, Clinton currently has 70% of the black vote...

Ok. So he made a bit of progress and is just now getting the level of support previous Republicans have had with a certain demographic. It's still not at levels that are out of the norm.

what world do you live on where getting another country to build a wall is hope?

USC Dornsife/LA Times Presidential Election Daybreak Poll results each day are based on a random sample of 400 individuals.

It is also a weighted results poll, and has been an outlier in Trumps favor consistently.

However, it's always good to see any demographic performing outside expectations.

Keeps things interesting.

It was the minority rise in this one that really looked as one might say 'out of place' . I think what we may be seeing is the hard working people of the country who do not like Clinton. Romney pulled a higher minority rate in 2012 as compared to 2008 this is showing that the 'Hope and Change' message for the middle class did not work.

The exit numbers in November could really change the landscape of future elections.

Could be, might be, I guess we'll have to wait and see.

I think there might be more support for some sort of "shift" if we see something change in other national polls.

Yes good reason to believe the race card attack because Trump is making headway in traditional Dem zones.

Why are races considered demographics in the states? Don't you people vote with your hearts and minds and not your skins and tribalisms?

People have said all along that if Trump hits the 20-25% black vote mark, that he'll win this election. Recent polls are backing that statement up. They are tied in battle ground states now. Hillary's polling numbers are dropping like a rock thrown into a river.

Yea it is. Says a lot about shifting political idea and what blacks really believe about Trump being racist......and about being told how to vote by carpet bagging dems.

And If it can go 20% it can end up going 30% or 40%

So you would rather have people with guns on the boarder?

Right now there are armed guards on the boarder. Are you saying you like people with guns over a wall?

Personally, if my neighbor took down his fence and replaced it with a person with a gun, that wouldn't give me much hope. The hope is a fence with a gate in the middle

I suspect that his overall black vote will top out around 30%. If that happens, Trump is going to landslide her. But I think hes going to landslide her anyway because the debates are coming up and Trump is going to destroy her.

The race as demographics is part of the early roles, nationalities, religion, slavery or not and political shaping and nurturing of same by party politics but it has been coming undone.

Have you seen the electoral college figures lately? Trump can't even hit 160, while Clinton's already over 200.

Ironically, the traditional African American "leaders", are inadvertently driving voters to Trump, because even they can't say what Hillary will do to make life better.

All they say is, "Hillary Clinton will preserve the gains that Barack Obama has given us!". Everyone in the audience looks at each other, and nods, but knows from their day-to-day life, that things in the inner cities have RETROGRADED under Barack Obama. Not moved forward.

You'd be hard pressed to find a Black voter who will openly admit that he/she is voting for Donald Trump. I'm amazed 20% did.

The election will not be decided by the 20%-25% of black voters that support Trump. It didn't help Romney. He has to gain traction with other groups of people as well.

No. It tells us that he was able to secure the percentage of black voters the GOP usually receives. It seems he is just catching up.

And If it can go 20% it can end up going 30% or 40%

And if it can go to 40%, why not 50% or even 75%?
