So what's your real fear of the alt right? I see you focus on them heavily. You do know there are hundreds of groups out there. Alot with ideas most of us wouldn't agree with. But yet few have posed much of a threat.

I'm not afraid of them, I don't like their message(s) and I don't like the tactics they use to spread their message(s). I discuss other things I don't like as well things I do like. I typical say things if I feel like saying things. I'm kind of funny that way I guess.

To the topic however, this is why parents need to be a part of their children's lives. Be nosy. There are bad sites everywhere.

I didn't call anyone racist more so I don't think all Conservatives fall under the umbrella of alt-right. I don't think racism is default of being Conservative, you are inventing straw men.

It was proving a point in this sort of flawed logic. This thread bashes the alt right which is broad and has no defined ideas. I am not alt right and can tell you all extremists typically are wrong. But this is hate perpetuation and an attempt to compartmentalize people for their beliefs and is doing so in a bigoted way.

The fact that this got so many stars just shows how brainwashed and generally ignorant most people are.

Hitler wasn't a socialist. The Nazi part was actually the Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei (NSDAP) or in English, the National Socialist German Workers' Party. Hitler himself added the word "Socialist" (the party evolved from the earlier German Workers' Party) but not because he was a socialist. (Do you think North Korea aka the People's Democratic Republic of North Korea is a democratic republic of the people?)

Early on, there was indeed a pro-working class faction of the NSDAP that some might consider "left-wing" but its leaders like Otto Strasser and later his brother Gregor had been expelled or resigned and whatever semblence remained past about 1930 was assassinated during Hitker's ultimate act of consolidation of power, the purge known as the Night of the Long Knives (which is when Gregor Strasser was killed).

That's not to say that those pro-worker elements of the NSDAP weren't "conservative" in other regards. They were rabid nationalists obssessed with ideas of a rebirth of traditional German "culutral identity" and they were also anti-semites who viewed Jews as being behind capitalism and capitalism as a tool for oppressing the working class. Of course Hitler claimed the Jews were behind communism (and of course he hated communists) too so basically... Jews were bad and behind everything that was bad.

The thing that bound these factions together (until it didn't) were the commonalities that we today consider to be "conservative" starting with their völkisch nationalism. I'm sure you have no idea what I'm talking about and I'm not even sure why I'm wasting my time here. It suffices to say that the reason that Trump is compared to Hitler (even though that's honestly a bit more than a little hyperbolic — we hope) is that Hitler was a populist who stoked the fires of (völkisch) nationalism and scapegoated minority groups as the others who were keeping Germany from being great again as a way of amassing power.

The economics were in many ways secondary. The bulk of his supporters really didn't care how it was accomplished, they just wanted to feel that pride and Hitler promised to deliver it to them.

If you want to try to sell this line of bulls#, I'd be happy to take this to a thread in the history forum (or mud pit) and embarass you. I don't have a lot of patience for people who pick up a couple memes from wingnut blogs and parrot it for high fives from other people who similarly have no idea what they are talking about.
