Yes. The Tea Party originally was Ron Paul's idea, during his campaign for 2008 POTUS. When Ron Scintilla had his 2009 rant on tv calling for a new Tea Party, the idea was reborn. The idea was then taken over by Dick Armey when he and FreedomWorks rolled in bus loads of people to the Washington DC mall in the summer of 2010. THAT event was the Tea Party that was promoted as THE Tea Party.

FreedomWorks was never a grassroots org but was an org from the Koch (Libertarian) wing of the GOP. FreedomWorks money history. This was the political party connection to bring the Tea Party movement into the Republican Party, making it identifiable with the RP, which in truth was how the RP suffered the ultimate takeover by its extremist wing. A vote for a Tea Party candidate was a vote for a Koch candidate, whether or not the candidate saw it as such.

It was at the 2010 rally that both left and right extremists gathered together to bash Obama. Far right Tea Party members branded Obama a Marxist Communist, while far left LaRouchies branded Obama as Hitler (remember those Hitler mustaches on Obama pix?). Hence, the contradictory memes. Note, far right Tea Partiers are a part of the GOP, but far left LaRouchies are not allowed to campaign as Dems.

Thus, Kansas was a ground zero state for Libertarian reforms (privatize all govt and shrink it to "drown in a bathtub"). Most people do not understand that the Libertarian Party is the Party of the Koch ideology from 1980. "What Do the Koch Brothers Want"-- from Bernie Sander's govt website

I mean I agree in that Reagan (actually his wife since he was a Democrat while he was an actor) hijacked the Republican party and he was the start of the irrelevancy that the Republican party has walked itself into, but it's just weird to see a conservative agree with me.

As far as I can tell, the extremist GOPs have been booted in favor of more moderate Republicans. The goners are the most extreme of the Dominionist/neo-TeaParty coalition. Whatever they stole from Ron Paul (who I was going to vote for, by the way), they have turned the label into some other crap.

It's a matter of semantics.
But these were the Ted Cruz types and Scott Walker types and Mike Pence types.
Extreme.

True. But at least those of us who are in Kansas got our bellies full now - and Wisconsin will have to follow suit if they want change. Pence makes me very nervous, though - especially since Trump is so volatile and might just quit any day - the screws will be tightened as he moves closer to the Oval Office - he's not used to having to answer to ANYONE, or to have no control over their actions.

Congress isn't a building full of people he can just walk in and "fire."

Well, after Obama's speech about ignoring Congress and using his pen and phone, Trump probably isn't worried about having to fire anyone. I guess he figures he also has a pen and a phone. Sauce for the gander?

No, a hyperbole that does not reflect Trump's idea that he can fire or ignore whomever. He can't. Not in this game.

Although, in case you're interested, the number of Obama's "Executive Orders" is lower than for either Bush's or Clinton's terms before him.

POTUS Executive Order history from Washington to Obama

Obama had no choice but to work around the obstructionist dead weight that refused to go to work.

Bunch of BullSNIP.

derp. Ya think? YES, we know that. This whole debacle was about not taxing anyone. It's ridiculous. You can't eliminate taxes and have a decent state infrastructure for the people. You just can't do it. You can try - but it WILL FAIL.

Actually no. They were trying to transition the state to an all sales tax state more in line with what states like Florida and Texas and South Dakota do.

Somehow, those states seem to be doing very well. Of course, when the transition does not include accompanying cuts in the state budget and state employee structure there will be problems. Kansans love their big government no matter how conservatively backward loves to think they are. And, also, no one seems to think this state's mess has anything at all to do with the previous two terms of Gov. Sebelius who so mismanaged Obamacare that she was drummed out.

I'M not a conservative I'M TEA PARTY

Unfortunately, cav,
I'm afraid it's more like you're a TEA PARTY CONSERVATIVE.

You might just as well say, I'm not an American, I'M A COLORADO AMERICAN. There's a huge difference.
And that'd be okay. Just realize you may want to change your bumper stickers, because the posers have stolen your logo.

The thing is, when the general populace hears "Tea Party" now, or "Libertarian", they lump it all in with Conservatives.
Just like you all lumped all Democrats into the broader "socialist".

If you all refuse to differentiate accurately, what makes you think those of us on the other side would bother? We have to stoop to your level. Otherwise, you don't get it. You and the religious - I'm not Christian, I'M CATHOLIC.

*shrug*

It is what it is.
I'm a Social Worker, but I get called a Social Justice Warrior. It isn't just you being wrongly maligned by posers.

Actually, then they failed doubly. Because it's over. You can do a play-by-play rerun all you like. But it's over.. He lost. Game over, dude.

It has nothing to do with Sebelius - how the hell are you talking like you know about this shizzle, again??!!!!

Brownback and his crew didn't endorse Cruz or Trump, they were all for Rubio and before him Jeb.

Anti-incumbency is popular this election.

As it should be.
Yes, it's popular, but it's actually REQUIRED (popular or not) this election.

Brownback is a disaster. If you don't want to recognize that, then that's entirely your decision based on crap propaganda. Just know that you're wrong.

Aw, shucks. Thanks! Yes, providing context is essential. .... loved the image! Oh, permit me one thing. Mea culpa. I put the FreedomWorks DC rally in the wrong year, should be 2009, not 2010. By 2010, there were already Tea Party Republican candidates for Congress.

Love ya back, and keep up the great work!

And why, pray tell us, can't Trump use that same lame excuse---to work around the obstructionist dead weight---when he is in that office? As I said---sauce for the gander. If you're going to allow your guy to do it, then the next one, who might not be your guy, will get to do the same thing and you have to sit and take it.
(Just a small reminder---what Bush did was just as bad, yea, worse in some cases, so justifying Obama with "Bush did so-and-so" won't fly with me. They're both dirty rotten crooks out for their own personal aggrandizement and money in my eyes. Just to be clear here, I think Bush, Clinton and Obama should be sharing a jail cell awaiting their trials.)
