The way I see it you're not really voting for a President as much as you are voting for what effect they will have long-term. Short-term they can do very little. Look at Obama. From a policy standpoint, his are very close to Bush. Imagine that? Well, it's because he has very little choice, really. But where a President can influence generations is in his nominees to the Supreme Court. The next president may have opportunity to appoint several. The Supreme Court is currently evenly divided. If Hillary gets in she will assure that the anti-gunners get in. If Trump is elected, we're likely to get more conservative supreme court justices. I don't think Trump is a traditional conservative at all. In fact, if you analyze his stance on the issues of the day, he's pretty middle of the road, but relatively speaking, Hillary will appoint liberals. Hillary and/or Trump will be gone in a few years, but the result of the supreme court nominations will influence this country for decades.

This is the REAL important issue with the US elections. Many do not understand the implications of having a left or right leaning supreme court, as in the quote above: "The result of the supreme court nominations will influence this country for decades".

Honestly, "conscience" should be the least of your worries right about now.

We already see what only 2 parties do to the uninformed masses. I honestly don't think we're ready to add more fuel to the fire.

A symbolic vote is the only one which can possibly be justified, given the unelectability of either of these entirely monstrous feinds.

Unless of course ones intention is to buy into the hegemony.

A symbolic vote assures one of those "monstrous fiends" gets elected and is completely unjustified. And I believe you have no say on the manner either way. It would be like me telling you what is a proper vote for Brexit. Y'all didn't like it much when Obama came over there and started jabbering at you, did you? Well, same rule applies.

You state that both these "monstrous fiends" are unelectable. That's just silly and completely false. They both ARE electable. That's the problem. I intend to vote for the person I feel is more likely to lead the country in the way I wish it to go. It's going to be close. Throwing my vote away for some third party is not going to do that. But I do hope a lot of people "vote their conscience" and throw away their vote on some silly no-account, hapless third party. I highly encourage it. That way, my person gets in. Works for me.

No doubt... I've been hearing Gary Johnson's name for what seems to be like 12 or 16 years... How many times has that dude ran?

In most presidential election years we also get to vote for congressman, and some years we also vote for our state level politicians like state senators, state house of representatives, state governor.if that isn`t enough voting then we can also vote for our local government officials, such as county council people, and county executive.for the people who live in cities or towns they can also vote for a mayor and town council people. if that still isn`t enough voting for you,you can also vote for state judges, county sheriff, clerk of the court, various local school board positions and local court positions.

with so many people and positions to vote for many people just go down the list and vote for all the republicans or all the democrats or all the non affiliated (independents).

What i usually do is i just vote against all the incumbents.(the people who currently hold that elected position) how do i vote against them? i vote for the name that is directly under theirs.

In 2012 I agreed with you and cast a symbolic vote for Gary Johnson. It cost me though, another 4 years of Obama along with losing my doctor and health insurance plan. Would Romney have been worse? Probably, but who knows. This time I can't afford to be symbolic and neither can America. The future Supreme Court appointees are important enough in themselves to make it clear to me that I have to vote Trump.

Also to mention.

Hilary clintons emails were hacked and any number of foreign intelligence maybe waiting to blackmail her if she becomes POTUS. Which is a gamble

Donald trump could very well be acting and/or saying whatever he needs to become POTUS, no way to tell if he's legit or just doing what he does, and/or for money and power. Which is a gamble

Also Hillary is known for illegal scandals and she just gives off a evil and wicked vibe

Also Donald is known for semi-legal loophole type scandals and he gives of a power hungry kinda vibe

There's also a green and yellow party IMO are not power and/or money hungry, and/or corrupted

Keep seeing Hillary Clinton and Donald trump blasted everywhere over the media lies, fraud, money laundering the Clinton family probably even has a couple murders under their belt, trump is a reality tv star etc.

Then Bernie endorsing Hillary making everything he's said as a candidate void

Then DWS stepping down after the WikiLeaks then getting promoted to different position

Also Bernie was invited by Jill Stein to join the Green Party.

I would vote this woman if she happened to be a candidate somehow m.worldstarhiphop.com...

Yes they are the only two options.....

The US election is so confusing.. there are so many twist and turns, here in Denmark we just get a a list of names on a paper walk into a room and put a X with the one we want to vote for, same in US ? do the Americans just get a piece of paper with a two lines saying Trump and Hillary and one just set a X with the one you want for president ?
No ours are electronic and have been rigged and/or hacked in the past and probably will be this time too.

There's no paper showing only Hillary and Trump. It's just propaganda and our media would have you believe there's no other option.

Public schools are funded by the government which teach republican and democratic nothing else. Nada. Squat.

So now there's over 100 million Americans that have no idea third parties exist, and if you were to tell them now it's too late.it wouldn't make it a difference.

Then accept that you will be responsible for whatever hells he unleashes on the world in your name. The same goes for all the Hilary voters. Voting makes you complicit in whatever comes next.

Ehh.. At least I'd have a clean conscious.

Trump as a candidate is really weird and a gamble with our future.

And a vote for Hillary is just plain treason

What, the woman who cannot keep her documents secure, has dodgy ties to some dodgy money, and the man who somehow got into 8 BILLION dollars of personal debt, tried to open a mortgage firm right before a banking crisis and is a professional swindler? These are electable? Pish.

No they aren't turn off your media for awhile.

If they are the only two options that would mean it's rigged, and now since it's all rigged that would also mean it's actually only one option and has been from the start. And Hillary is most likely it seeing as higher powers favor and also censor the Internet for her.

They are the only practical options. One of them will get it. Oh, I know some people want to vote their "conscience," but if you do your vote will be only symbolic. Plus in a very close election you run the risk of allowing the candidate you least like to get in.

The way I see it you're not really voting for a President as much as you are voting for what effect they will have long-term. Short-term they can do very little. Look at Obama. I'd rather not vote if they were the last two real or practical options, sets a huge precedent for the future of America.

But you can vote for the lesser of evils if you want. After all it is America.

Well, my vote isn't going to hurt the Democrats or Republicans. I vote for the candidate and neither of their candidates are even close to being worthy of my vote. I am not voting for either, I am not choosing either of their sides this election. I might look at the green party though. I wish bernie would have made it. I would have voted for Cruize instead of Hillary, but not trump. I did not believe the story about Cruize being a citizen though, technically he is Canadian in my book. I have nothing against Canada, but it sure seems that we are being BSed a lot by politicians now, they must like deceiving the American people and push us into believing things they want us to believe. They seem to be Mocking Americans and our laws. Trying to twist things to get away with things. They enjoy the deception game it seems, fueled by lawyers who can intrepret things the way they want to.

I may never vote again for president, it is an utter waste of time.

Although I would have to say.

If it did come down to it. I would vote for trump. for the only sole bottom of my heart reason being would be to keep HC from becoming POTUS.

Not because I believed he would be a good President. Which is sad

Because if I don't vote it might one less drop for the wave against tyranny. But if I do the trump thing omg
my head hurts..

Only if there were a way.
