Well there's video.

I didn't see the video. Did you?

I don't care if my doubt baffles you.

And I don't care if you can't grasp simple concepts like using one's feet to move from one place to another during a gunfight.

And no, I haven't. Doesn't mean we never will, which is what you said. What I have seen is the video of the woman freaking out while the initial gunfight is playing out, and then freaking out when the same guy suddenly appears behind her.

You don't care, and yet you want to pick a fight.

Sorry, I don't see that guy getting around that huge complex, back and forth, driving his car, jumping walls and methodically and surgically killing those officers. They're attributing seemingly superhuman abilities to this supposed "lone gunman", and based on earlier reports, I'm not buying it.

I can only speculate on the reasons why we, the public are not given the full story.

I heard that being in the Marines for 5 years...he was never deployed to a combat zone. Is this uncommon?

not unusual, many Marines, soldiers, sailors, and airmen never see combat during a war, even while being in country.
i don't know what his mos was, but if he was a 0300/ 0311, 0331,0341,0351 billet that would be.

He was deployed to Iraq for seven months in either 07-08 or 08-09 and his MOS was a data network specialist. So he was a fobbit he may have at one point heard something blow up.

You don't care and yet you keep arguing?

It's significantly less than 500 feet from one side of the incident to the other. He made a circle. If you don't think a grown man is capable of moving a grand total of call it, generously, a thousand feet on foot and less than 500 feet by vehicle in somewhere between six to eight minutes, I dunno what to tell you. It's a gas station, not a prairie. Killed three cops on one side of it, wounded a fourth, shot some more cops on the other side of it, then got killed himself.

If that's some superhuman feat to be able to get from one side of a gas station to the other and back while engaging targets, I can tell you stories from Iraq that'll make your head catch fire.

Long moved around several buildings over a 300- to 400-yard crime scene as the shooting unfolded, Edmonson said at a press conference.

That's the entire crime scene. Including the building that was behind him that was struck by gunfire.

Not how far he traveled on foot.

He moved through an area that covered 300-400 yards, back and forth, weaving through buildings, jumping walls, strategically targeting officers that were not in his line of sight.

Please just stop. You don't have to impose your LEO authority over and belittle everyone on the internet that doesn't bite all that's being fed to us.

Here we go.

I'm supposed to believe that this self absorbed idiot

strategically shot (as many as) 7 police officers, in this large area, weaving in and out of buildings, jumping walls, in less than 10 minutes, all by himself? I have my doubts.

Why would TPTB want us to believe that this lone gunman was so capable? What would be the reason for such an agenda?

Well maybe, this is it....

(CNN)Baton Rouge Police Chief Carl Dabadie Jr. said Monday that the attack that killed three law enforcement officers and wounded three others showed why militarized police tactics are needed.
....................

"That shot our SWAT team made was a helluva shot," Dabadie said. "We've been questioned for the last (two) weeks about our militarized tactics and our militarized law enforcement. This is why. We are up against a force that is not playing by the rules. They didn't play by the rules in Dallas and they didn't play by the rules here."

Doesn't look much like an AR like the initial report from the police now, does it ?.

Nope. But it's still 5.56mm/,223 cal....

Close enough for some I suppose.

From the small amount of gear he was carrying, it appears he never expected to be alive when the whole thing was overwith.

It being his birthday is telling, he committed suicide by cop.

Militarized police tactics are not needed.

Police need to keep their heads out of their butts and do perimeter scans everywhere they go.

Besides paying attention to their surroundings, what exactly are they supposed to be doing anyway ?.

And as far as a "self absorbed idiot" being able to do this?, he should have been able to do a lot more damage than he actually did.

He was obviously in a non-combat MOS in the marines.

I think he probably got some specialized training while he was in Africa. I'm not saying this "self absorbed idiot" didn't do a lot of damage on his own, and if he'd been less self absorbed and more tactical, he would have done more damage, for sure.

My doubt lies within the logistics and shear amount of area and the obstacle course he allegedly maneuvered successfully in a short amount of time. Couple that with the chance that an officer would be at his car, checking plates....and so forth.

I think that there's more to this story than TPTB are willing to tell us. Perhaps a much more terrifying plot was underfoot, stopped by some covert US agency,(Ahem, That was some shot!), and the public will never know how close we came to something much worse than what they're telling us.

But, I'm just not buying the "lone gunman" scenario. Doesn't mean I hate America.

Dude look at a map with a scale on it. It was not 400 yards across. The ENTIRE crime scene is 300-400 yards across. That means from where one bullet impacted to where another bullet impacted. That's the crime scene. And the shooter moved around INSIDE the crime scene. He went across the front side of the gas station, then around the back side of it. He didn't walk the perimeter.

I can only presume that you've not seen any amount of combat in your lifetime. Having some concept of what to do and how to do it, coupled with speed, surprise, and violence of action can accomplish all manner of things. One doesn't have to be superhuman to shoot and kill three people who don't know you're coming for them, nor does one have to be superhuman to run across a parking lot and shoot another person who's sitting in a car running your plate.

Not that any of it matters. Even if the video is released, some folks will come up with all new questions and theories. Superhuman or otherwise.

WTF? You're not making any sense. Look at the numbers on the diagram and take a little ruler and measure the shooter's supposed path for yourself.

The guy traversed, according to police, an area of 400 yards and back, weaving in and out around buildings and jumping over a wall at some point, shooting "as many as" 7 officers, by chance, all in a matter of minutes.

Nope.

Add to that earlier reports of two, even multiple, gunmen shooting at each before police presence and you have reasonable doubt.

This just in. Cop shoots supine black guy, behavioral therapist, his hands in the air, three times. Hits him once. Black guy says 'Did you just SHOOT ME?'. He says 'why did you shoot me' The cops allegedly says 'I don't know'.

Cop says "I don't know".

Sheesh.

www.yahoo.com...

Guy was on the ground hands in the air.

What a clown in a uniform. Happened in Miami. The call in was bogus.

Of course the internal investigation will give the cop three weeks paid suspension then back on the job and will claim 'well tensions were high, what do you expect from us?' Yeah, they're not professionals with an IQ over 100...or maybe they should be.

Or more likely the cop will claim PTSD for having shot someone and get a disability pension. Police unions, gotta love 'em.

Did you miss the thread title?

Did you miss the multiple threads where that incident was posted?

Just wondering how you're tying it all in.
