I think people should be free to watch what they want to watch. Not what someone thinks they NEED to watch.

ople are addicted to fear and anger and Fox News provides them in ample amounts. Fear and anger release adrenaline and Fox News viewers are adrenaline junkies, addicted to it, and they tune in every day to get their daily fix.

You know, I would rather hear a bit of doom and gloom, than "everything's fine, go back to sleep" or have to listen to some Liberals like on "The View" tell us how Hillary is a Saint, or how guilty we should feel because.[ insert PC Crusade Of The Week here ].
Fox actually reports on stories the rest of the networks won't touch, like Hillary's emails, her indictment and all the money coming in to her "Foundation" from countries that support terrorists. Or how that money gets funneled to the darndest places..

FOX is fine, but you really can't beat CNN and MSNBC for ludicrously-slanted, liberal bias and progressive propaganda.

You really can't beat them at those. You can't beat Fox's ludicrously-slanted, Republican bias and conservative propaganda either. They're a match made in hell with their viewers being the guinea pigs.

Doom and gloom causes stress you know, stress is bad for you. So I guess that means Fox News is bad for you by proxy.

Oh I agree, watch what you want to, but be warned that any mainstream news source is most likely government implemented propaganda.

I totally agree. But I also think the news should be about reporting facts and not opinions. Pretty much every news outlet now has become what used to be called tabloid tv.

Anyone remember what used to be considered "The News", with it's bland reporting, fact based stories and no commentary???

I used to hate it because it was so damn boring. Now I almost kind of miss it.

It is simply election time. CNN grew ifs prime time audience by 70% and has the smallest gap with Fox that it has in a long time. CNN Grows prime time audience by 70% ,

MSNBC grew its audience by 75% seeing its best ratings since 2012. MSNBC massive ratings growth

However, lets put this in perspective. ABC, NBC, and CBS news see 6 to 8 times the ratings of these Cable news shows. So it good short term news for a dying format, it will not change the long term fate of these networks.

FOX is pretty damn far from being "fine".

The rest aren't much better.

If you want real news, I suggest tea leaves or Quija Boards. I hear reading the entrails of certain animals is pretty accurate as well.

I agree. That's why I start each day by watching 'Good Morning Goat Intestines'.

STUDY: Watching Only Fox News Makes You Less Informed Than Watching No News At All

I can't believe ATS actually has threads supporting such a disgusting organization. What the hell has happened to this place?

Would you prefer burning books to threads ?

Didn't you make a thread on POLITICAL BAITING ?

Yes, I did. What's your point? Now I'm pointing out the political baiting that Fox News does on a regular basis during their 24/7 coverage. They are just as much a source of propaganda as any other MSM source.

I just cannot believe how people who are members of a conspiracy site can honestly support an organization like Fox News (or CNN or MSNBC or ABC etc.). It's baffling.

What is making Fox so popular this year anyway?

Unthinking people need further input so they can function? Kinda like a sick version of Johnny 5?

What remaining respect I had for any of them was lost this election.

It was just last Thanksgiving where Hannity was on his show agreeing with a Republican congressman who was saying we needed a genocide of Muslims because they don't believe in God.

Rush went way off the deep end with Trump, and now supporting him has proven that he's not actually a conservative he just supports whoever the Republicans put forward (though that was obvious since he supported Romney and McCain too).

Beck used to be great, his co hosts still are. Glenn himself however has gone absolutely nuts. I used to really like him, not because I agreed with everything but because I thought he was interesting. He lost that though and turned into a preacher.

This proves that conservatism is vastly more popular than liberalism, at least among educated voters.

Thanks Obama!

I used to not be able to watch Fox News... I thought they were literally ONLY "stupid," and I often still think they're stupid, with good reason... I used to LOVE the Daily Show and Colbert... They showed me how stupid conservatives could be... Then, I feel my "eyes were opened" to how biased they ALL (MSM) were... (I Thank the NDAA, (2012?) and the lead up to it, with all the "not gonna happen; not gonna pass congress; and I'll veto," for MONTHS, only to have it signed, on a Sat, New Year's Day, with a caveat about how it wasn't wanted, but the equivalent to "I guess so..." (That was MY main catalyst)... I had to quit coming to ATS just for the ghosts, Bigfoot, aliens, etc, and started reading all the "boring" threads on politics and such... Now, I watch Fox, keeping in mind that they are stupid at times, but less manipulating, at least emotionally, imo, than the others... (I know, they still do manipulate...) I now believe I do a decent job of weeding out a bunch of the bull, because I see so many more hypocrisies now, while before, I gave those in charge the benefit of the doubt... I also have THIS site, to (hopefully) present the best arguments for both sides of stories, which I look for, BEFORE I close the stories... I also feel like I get news from ATS before its news, sometimes months before... Then, once I hear of a story, I turn on fox, because, YES, they do mirror more of what I think, more often than the others... (I am NOT R or D, but have grown to be more libertarian) But then I flip to CNN and MSNBC so I know the "other side" of the story... I can't even watch The Daily Show or Colbert anymore, as I don't find them funny like I used to... It's more insulting, now... It's like they're trying to spoon feed babies, and I am NOT one...

Anywho...
As for the OP, what are the numbers when you stack Fox (one MSM network) against all the other MSM? Remember to add in non-cable network news... So the fact that Fox is doing better than all the others, does not mean it's actually doing better than all the others put together. Fox, not counting non-main-streamiest-media, is the non-main-streamiest of the main-stream... (?...) aside from these recent figures...

I find the fact that even Fox News isn't necessarily toeing the line with support for Trump refreshing... (I'm not even a Trump supporter... I'm more against Hillary and socialism.)

I am still skeptical, in that I wonder if everything (brexit included) is all part of the shadow gov's plans... I mean, we ARE more divided, as communities, a country, a continent, and a world, than almost ever before...

Also, even though I am super-empathetic, I have grown to dislike the forced "PC-ness" of our culture, today... Also, I hate seeing our rights being killed by a thousand cuts... Also, I'm now a veteran, and I now value different things... I could go on, but that's good for now, I guess...

What important things did I miss/neglect?

LOL ... okay, that's a knee-slapper. Great mimicking of the vapid style of the echo-chamber that is Fox News.

Care to explain? Or did you just want to give everyone a good laugh?
