The short answer, is because we didn't have them all shot.
That is a very good answer as well.
Wow, a self-proclaimed SJW agreeing with such measures for people whose views she finds abhorrent.
I must say I am little surprised.

Very small groups of idealogical idiots. It is semantics. It's like saying the cult of Aten still exists. Maybe in name but not in reality.

It's safe to say everything preferred is that way because of the same reason other people prefer other things. If you haven't figured it out it's your problem, why should I tell you when me knowing and you not knowing gives me an advantage?

Fascism...not Nazism. Never mind. Carry on being lazy if you like. But the next time a Nazi rises to power let us all know, we will be more interested in stopping the fascists.
You see, fascism, where the corporations and the government are all mingled up into one element, is a method for controlling a populations people, and their pockets, with the same tool. If a government is the corporation which owns all the material wealth, and all the means of producing anything, then the people are beholden to them, and this means that the fascism can get away with anything it likes.
The most dangerous thing about the Nazi party, was that it was founded on sleight of hand, lies within lies
The liberty of a democracy is not safe if the people tolerated the growth of private power to a point where it becomes stronger than the democratic state itself. That in its essence is fascism: ownership of government by an individual, by a group, or any controlling private power.
"Ever wonder how German citizens in the 1930's allowed the rise of a brutal dictator and the emergence of a military dictatorship? Actually, you're watching it happen right now in the United States. This is exactly how it happened in Nazi Germany.
"The comparison is no longer metaphorical. It is literal. The U.S. government is following the recipe to the letter: The selling of fear to create a reaction where citizens demand greater 'security,' the centralization of power, the suspension of civil rights, the defiance of accepted international law, the control of the press through threats and propaganda, the excusing of war crimes committed by our own military leaders, the arrogance of believing the whole world should think, and act, and govern just like us. These are the ideas of madmen, and yet today, they are now official policy of the United States government."

It's not a meme. It may be a modern usage, but it is being used to encompass white supremacy movements. They like the label Nazi, often.
