Nonsensical Songs

What nonsensical songs do you like?

My favorite nonsensical song is "If U Seek Amy" by Britney Spears. I consider it to be the gold standard of nonsense.

The video is even more nonsensical than the song which makes it that much cooler.

The Riddle by Nik Kershaw.

Drove people crazy trying to answer the riddle. Interesting tune with lyrics having just a hint of the Bible.

The "riddling" lyrics caused much puzzlement and speculation among listeners as to their meaning; Kershaw claims that there is in fact no meaning at all, simply being a "guide vocal" thrown together to fit the music.[1] Kershaw has stated: "In short, 'The Riddle' is nonsense, rubbish, bollocks, the confused ramblings of an 80's popstar.

"The Wine Song" -- Cat Empire

It's one of the oddest songs I've heard in a while--I love it.



And then there's the classic, "Detachable Penis," by King Missile.

Here's a classic that even the band didn't know the lyrics to. Myth was they were so stoned when they recorded it that the next morning they were stumped as to the lyrics. They listened and listened to it to figure out some of the lyrics and just mumbled the ones they didn't know at their concerts. Recently a fan figured out the words, here they are at last.

Wow I have only heard this songs on the kids radio slot on one of our alternative radio stations. So great to see a visual version of it. Will watch later as its time to get kids ready for school. Thanks

Yes yes yes king missile. Very good memories of listening to these guys. They also wrote one about Jesus turning sugar into coc aine . Now I will have to have a listening day.
