Yes it does.

Think about it...

Totally open and unprotected borders is an incentive to make the trek. If people think they are going to meet resistance to gaining entry into the country are they more or less likely to risk their lives making the trip?

Its pretty obvious.

Security is about presence.

They had webcams setup for the public to watch and report live. Well it wasn't that live someone figured out the cams were set on loop mode.

trump knows it will never be built. he knows mexico will never pay for it directly and a fee on visas won't cover it and tarriffs will just backfire. he knows paul ryans congress will never pay for it.

the rio grande presents a huge obstacle, as does private property.

john oliver killed the wall a few months ago.

south and central americans are not cows. they cannot be defeated with a wall. they will sail around it, dig under it, or get smuggled through it. heck, most illegals enter legally and just overstay their visa

the sad part is how may people didn't think about it, they just went with it

Between seismic sensors,Lidar, and ground surveillance radar, and satellites looking down all the time, drones.

A wall is entirely possible, and it's really not that expensive.

All they really have to do is put the same technology that protects Area 51 on the southern border.

Create a few rapid response helos stations strategically placed for maximum coverage.

The point I was making is that walls (and other fixed fortifications) do not work in the long term. This is a proven historical and tactical fact. But people are free to believe the Trump-aganda.

You know what does work long term, turrets and drones that shoot anything that moves in the kill zone. Should be no Americans there and especially no illegals. there's answers for everything buddy.

They work around the White House.

They work around Fort Knox.

They work at North Koreas southern border.

But lets get real.

We not fighting a 'blitzkrieg' or 'shock and awe' military campaign here.

We have the technology.

We have assets available. Drones air, and UGV's, Satellites.

What I don't get is why some people lack the will to PROTECT the people that live here.

From people that don't belong.

From weapons.

From drugs.

A wall only makes common sense.

An unmanned wall offers little to no resistance.

Seems reasonable. I am sure that would go over real well.

They work around the White House.

They do? How did that person manage to get into the White House? Teleporter?

They work around Fort Knox.

Which is located on an active military base.

They work at North Koreas southern border.

Which is a giant minefield.

But lets get real..

Considering you and I had this conversation already in which you brought up the White House wall you are not capable of 'getting real', You are too caught up in your own hysteria to look at history which is the best predictor of the future. Fixed fortifications do not work.

The 'technology' that protects Groom Lake is semi-automatic rifles and the ability to use deadly force if you trespass.
