Of all the candidates who might destroy America my bets are placed on Trump since he's A Okay with destroying the economy because he thinks he can make a deal.

Venezuela's issues stem from a 'price capping'.

And before people go on a rant about that and socialism...price capping is used across the globe (yup, even the US), with some countries finding success, and some finding failure.

All those gun free zone signs coupled with no right for citizen gun ownership, this place must be paradise.

Look at all those signs preventing gun violence.

Oh I don't think so. Socializing medicine and providing free school at community colleges and state universities is not even close to controlling Americas means of production. In fact, that doesn't even make sense but not much from the conservative camp ever makes much sense these days.

Don't get me wrong, I agree that Venezuela has not been smart about the way they have socialized certain sectors. Their plans were poorly implemented.

But it is my opinion that their main problem is their currency controls. Manufactures have a hard time getting raw materials to produce enough products to meet demand because less and less exporters are willing to do business with Venezuelan business', because Venezuela has such overbearing restrictions on currency exchanges.

You control price by controlling the means of production. With health care and education both, the production is a service. Most schools and hospitals are held in private hands as are all the equipment and doctors are and educators are offering up their services as private citizens. This all must be put under the control of the state - meaning the facilities, service providers, and equipment all must be seized and controlled by the state in order for the state to regulate and set prices inside the state controlled system.

Technically in Canada, private health services are illegal although the boutique health care system is allowed because everyone knows that it is sometimes the only way for citizens to receive certain tests and services in a timely manner even if they are paying out of pocket.

I wonder how many people are going to flock to this thread saying "But but, this isn't real Socialism...they didn't do it correctly....again...for the umpteenth time"

The new emergency got nothing to do with food, Maduro don"t want to leave and its making all it can to avoid a referendum, he currently got 15% of support, but military and supreme court are still 100% corrupt.

Among the powers he is imposing with the decree he is removing congressional abilities, and disavowing parts of the constitution regarding the removal of government officials.

He already said the congress will be removed soon and nothing can force him to do a referendum, even as is in the constitution.

If that's a real situation, they have grossly mismanaged along the way! How can a nation be completely out of food? Do they accept tourists? Do they export anything? Import anything? Such a problem shows a serious problem with how the country is being run. The people of Venezuela need to do some housecleaning in their government, I think.

I reccomend they start eatng the surplus population. Weekly lotteries determines who will be cooked. They have a over population so use it. Although so many hot girls will be spit roasted its mind boggling. MMM give me soem of that sweet meat from consuela please marco.

It was obviously a power grab. This proves Chavez was assassinated. Obviously the gangs are taking over Venezuela. Not smart for not executing high profile criminals. This is what they get.

so I looked at some more recent articles, and a big problem is the black market. the baddies cut the ration lines then sell the goods later after it has sold out at a huge mark up

its just incompetence and greed all around
