poor reason to give full support

Seeing single payer health is not working in many countries. Socialism does not work look at Denmark, Sweden and others that have tried it. Greece a total failure, Spain and France are near failures too.

Free market capitalism with some regulations to keep it honest works best.

I could do all that or just flip a coin like they did in Iowa.

The estate tax thing should be upped to $10 million.

I was thinking exactly the same thing when I read your post. $3.5 Million isn't nearly as "wealthy" as it used to be. There are a lot of family owned farms whose assets may add up to $3.5 Million or more. But these people are far from being rich.

I agree that a progressive inheritance tax starting at $10 Million is workable. But in the past, once the value of an estate reached a certain point, the inheritance tax was closer to 50%.

Then you just don't have empathy for the suffering of others and no remorse for it. A criminal mentality.

Hardly.
I just believe in paying one's own way.
I think charity is great and donate both my time and money as I can afford to.
I don't think that a person should shame others into being charitable.
That's what you are doing here. Does it make you feel good, at my expense?

No, you said people should choose to die if they can't pay to get medical care, correct? Did I misunderstand. If you feel that way, you can't help that.

I think you are trying too hard to make Bernie Sanders not have Polish ancestry (because he is also Jewish).

No.
I said everyone dies. I never said that people should choose to die if they can't pay for medical care. I said that people do make bad choices. I don't feel as if it is anyone else's responsibility to make sure that everyone is taken care of at everyone else's expense.

The Healthcare Industry thrives on keeping them alive as long as possible, often with a quality of life that is deplorable. All you have to do is visit an elderly care facility, a real nice one that fills it's accounts with the money of aged people hanging on by a thread. Medicare accounts for a lot of that money.
Do you lie awake at night worrying about all the poor souls that are suffering and dying in third world countries due to the lack of free health care that so many poor people in the US have access to? Answer that one honestly.I will not shame you for not caring.

No, I do think about it about sometimes. That is way I give to several charities also. What I really keeps me awake at night, is our involvement in the ME. The hoplessness of camps, migrants, bombs, diseases. Bad karma. Swear to God that is the truth.

I have no reason to doubt your word. You have admirable qualities as a human being.
A star on your post.

Sanders has pledged to hike taxes on the wealthy, including a progressive estate tax on the top 0.3% of Americans who inherit more than $3.5 million. He has promised to enact a tax on Wall Street speculators and raise the minimum wage to $15 by 2020. He has pledged to shut down trade policies NAFTA, CAFTA, PNTR with China and the Trans-Pacific Partnership, which would have mixed results but could bring more jobs back to the U.S.

This one is my favorite. Sanders shows a particular acuteness about what we need to do to regain our jobs:

I also like his stand on the minimum wage:

I mean, really. Feel the Bern!

Yes, he does downplay his Jewish heritage and I'm sure a lot of people would have second thoughts about having a Jewish President. From some of the posts here I see that having a Polish heritage is grounds for opening one to ridicule.

great a polish president now we can have a submarine with a screen door and a helicopter with an ejector seat. That kind of talk i'm guessing? Or a double insult like great a polish and jewish president its now a cheaper screen door and cheaper ejector seat.

all joking aside I'm happy with what a president did with my heritage ,man on the moon, stopped a mad situation

yeah but a long waiting time to get certain test done.

Actually the Republican led house in the US offered a far better plan to replace Obamacare/AMA but couldn't get the members to pass it. It was a really good plan.

The thing that killed it was it kept Lawyer/attorney fees to a minimum. That is why there was an opposition the syndicate of Attorneys opposed it because they could make large amounts of money off settlements which have driven insurance costs through he roof.

It is more of a war between Insurance Companies and Attorneys

Bernie Sanders is Polish. I'm Polish. He has my full support.

Well, there's a valid reason.

Personally, hard for me to support a guy who:

1. Is basically a year shy of average life expectancy.
2. Never had a steady paycheck until his 40's, and THEN it was an elected position.
3. Only bills sponsored were about renaming Post Offices.
4. Seemingly comes out of nowhere...who put him up to it?
5. Basically wants to raise my taxes and take more of my paycheck to give to folks who want handouts.
6. Has no chance, Hillary already has like 5 times the delegates pledged.

No thanks.

That pretty much covers the most important things.

Other than the fact that he displays an ignorance of basic economics and wants to run the US economy. Did I type 'run', maybe I should have typed 'ruin'.

It's funny how people don't consider the impact of a raised minimum wage to $15 an hour.

If I'm a major retailer, or fast food chain (large employers of minimum wage workers), first thing I'm doing is installing self order/self pay kiosks, and laying off a lot of counter workers, so my profits stay good for the shareholders. So, your brilliant plan just increased unemployment, and Sally went from $8 an hour to $0 an hour. I'm sure Sally will be pleased knowing that IF she finds a job, she can expect $15 an hour, but will likely only get 10 hours a week instead of 30.

Meanwhile, you and I will pay $1 more for a value meal, even though the company really didn't lose any money. (because they'll justify the price hike with the new minimum wage laws).
