The Shamala river in Karnataka, India has never drained before. Due to a combination of drought and overconsumption of water, low water levels are revealing ancient secrets that are astounding archaeologists. As the water is receding, thousands of Shiva Lingas are appearing along the river bed.





Ancient Code reports, "The place referred to as “Sahasralinga” (thousand Shiva Lingas in Sanskrit) has become an extremely important pilgrimage site and thousands of people visit Sahasralinga offering their prayers to Lord Shiva. What an amazing find - thanks for taking the time to upload pictures. It's tough to tell what exactly we are looking at, engravings of some sort - an old sunken temple perhaps? Everything looks like it's in really good condition.

Can't wait to see what experts can decipher from these

It is in the river Shalmala and is famous for being the location where around a thousand lingas which are carved on the rocks in the river bank.[1] In fact, the name Sahasralinga means thousand-lingas in Sanskrit.

I don't believe that this is the first time the carvings have been seen.
The place is the site of a pilgrimage where Shiva (I think) is worshiped.
Plus, someone had to carve the Shiva Lingam, and I doubt they did it underwater.

In my opinion, it's a Shiva Lingam - the symbol for Lord Shiva, here's a sculpture from India below. It's a phallus representing the reproduction in nature.
