And for the people that think it's frozen diesel, obviously you haven't worked on a farm, of even seen diesel spills, in sub-zero winters.
Diesel does not form separately almost symmetrical 3d hexagon type objects, laid out in an almost perfect circular pattern.

It could of been spilt in with whatever else it is as s combination of factors.
Diesel is a potential due to the coloration.
I wouldn't isolate it as a cause.
Even oil spots cause rainbow colors.
Isn't it really black between the white pieces in pattern?

The russian television presented an interesting report on this case
including a complete tutorial by a specialst on this kind of circle
formations on ice but at tne end she did not explain exacty what
this artifact culd be in that frozen Utah lake. This is the link.
Unfortunately is in russian, someone can translate?
In the Internet at the beginning of this week the videotape, which provoked stormy discussion not only among the series users of network, but also among the scientists, appeared. Eyewitness imprinted strange formation on the surface of the frozen lake in the American state of Utah. On the form almost ideal circle, on top of that and in the openings.

Salt causes the ice to melt.. dough then forms pockets and gives it a melted look. Also the white/beige substance "Playdough" has a form to it (as if you put it in your hand and made a fist" so to speak.

This is really awesome this hasn't been debunked. I'm completely surprised. Why isn't there a follow up video? That alone is kind of suspect...
