Florida Ferry to Bahamas only a 48-Mile Ride

Who knew? I for one didnt despite having lived and worked in the West Palm Beach, FL area from 2002-2009; there was apparently ferry services avail from WPB to Bimini & Nassau at least as far back as 2005.



20 minutes and only 48 miles from FL to Bimini?! Heck that's a few miles less than even the distance between Alaska & Russia across the Bering Strait!

This dude has a recollection of that area similar to mine..

What does you not knowing about an existing ferry service have to do with placing this in the Fragile Earth forum? What is the relevance?

Where did you see that? The ferry actually goes about 20mph.

No, my location is clearly listed in my profile, but I am in the Fort Lauderdale/Miami area 4-5 times a year for business and I have seen the ferry at Port Everglades.

Follow the link to the ferry's website, it takes 4 hours to make the 85 mile trip.
